Help Where do I put the video files so I can play them to my TV?

I have a folder called "videos" on the root section of my sdcard and I can't get them to play to the TV...

Heres the funny thing though.... Any mp4 video I put on my sdcard, it shows up in the stock video player under "all videos"

Will it only play mp4 videos?

Which app can I install that plays avi format and streams it through the HDMI out?

convert your videos to mp4 and they should play
