Yamgo - streaming tv to desire (uk)

Ok folks, sussed why login wasn't, t working on Desire. The text prediction / dictionary remembers some words. It remembered my username. Unfortunately if you select the word, it then adds a space. Login fails with this space. Delete the space and bingo!

So now I'm in, I find that I can 't read the scrolling banners on BBC News. Picture quality pretty awful. Don 't think you could watch footy on this, the ball would be invisible. Anyone else found this?

Can't think why your picture is so bad for you. As I said have been watching this over various connections. When watching the cup final could even read the on-screen scoreline!
Wouldn't necessarily recommend it for 90 minutes viewing during the World Cup but then again the matches are all fta and will be shown just about everywhere.

Yup, I'm the same on 3g/H on T-mob. Picture quality not great and again massive lipsync problems. It's like watching a badly dubbed kung fu film. Why is this such a problem with video on the desire and have I missed a workaround/solution?

From all the streaming video I've tried, nothing compares to sky sports 1.

Oh and sometimes (most of the time) it's coming up with the content is supported and giving me an option to download the m3u8 file. Anyone using a standalone player?

What are you using to view the stream?

What are you using to view the stream?

I am using Streaming Media Player but can use Movies. SMP shows picture in fullscreen, Movies in a 4:3 box. Not much to chose between them in picture quality. Just had Millionaire on ITV and could read the questions off the screen comfortably. (This was over home wifi.)

Well this is odd. I just tried the YouTube app that comes with the phone. Picture quality absolutely perfect. Really. So, not sure what the issue is. Could be my wifi is slow, but that doesn't explain how come the YouTube video was so good. Mmmm.

All I get is this content is not supported, do you want to download anyway?

Logged in fine, what am I doing wrong?

Same as this for me. Works on xscope but not on stock browser. Stock browser doesn't recognise the phone I'm using either.

Right, just tried it on the free Dolphin HD browser and it works fine, picture quality was good but not great, I'll keep viewing different programs and see what it's like.

this works fine but is horrificly out of sync. What is the best videoplayer on android?

edit: for the record, audio is about 25 seconds ahead of video. and to tangent off, i have never had audio in sync with video on any video on my desire. dunno why..

If you haven't got an unlimited 3G contract....BEWARE. This WILL rack up the MB's in no time.........;)

Sounds like a connection issue, mine was like less than a second out of sync, barely noticeable. The state of your connection will heavily influence your video quality.

And i believe this is legal if you pay a tv license

Yeah, tried that, on wireless and on H, on mobile view and not mobile view.

Looking at my profile on their site it says that it can't recognise my phone make?

I had trouble getting this to work a couple of weeks a go but the mobile site tip has just fixed that, thank you, its working fine now.

I keep getting can't connect to the server when trying to connect through my mobile signal, its fine through wifi, can anyone help

thats what i get on anything but wifi,

im using the dolphin browser, as opera mini didnt recognise the phone, standard browser said my country wasnt supported...lol.

im on O2.

Just tried this at work.. streamed fine using 3g, brilliant!! :)

Great find!

Go into your settings and tick allow mobiles sites.

I've uninstalled Opera now.

both the default internet program and dolphin are set to allow mobile sites.

But whichever i use (non wifi, usually on 'H' connection), when i click on the channel link, it goes to the swirly progress thing on the video player for maybe 30 seconds then brings up a window saying it 'cannot play the video file as it cannot connect to the server'. wifi works fine.

odd. like i said, maybe its just O2.

Exactly what i get but iam with Vodafone

Works on the stock browser but the picture quality is pretty poor. My mate tried it on his iPhone and the picture quality was far superior. Think I'll download dolphin and try it through that.
