so all of yongzh's emulators got yanked from the market place today, as a result he has hosted them at slide me, and they are currently free! get em while they're hot!
Anyone know why he pulled them from the Market? Why not just put them on both?

I'd assume because he took code from other open source emulators, modified it, and sold them as his own.
He didn't. Google pulled them. Why he put them on Slide Me and not Amazon is beyond me though. I'd never heard of Slide Me before now.
I got the Slideme app and it showed I already had the emulators installed. I was surprised that I had all of them! Anyway I redownloaded and reinstalled. It's nice that Slideme has an alternative market for the apps.U can google slideme on ur phone and download the app from their site which includes a slideme market place. Then it is just a matter of redownloading his emulators if you already have them. If you do not redownload within 2 weeks slideme will say you need to buy them when an update comes out you want to get. So make sure and download them through the slideme app asap. Then whenever you want to check updates just open that app like the android market app and check for updates by clicking on notifications

Engadget can say whatever they want. And if that's what they're saying, then they're wrong.Nope, according to Engadget is was because Sega complained about their existence.

His emulators were built off other developers' code that are distributed under licenses specifically distributed for Non-Commercial Use. He broke the license when he charged money for the emulators.
I believe Amazon is even more strict than the general android market since it is curated
well i mean is it really that bad sure he used other peoples code but isnt it all open source? and you can do what you wish to it. (please correct me if im wrong i have a feeling im really missing some info, i welcome that someone corrects me if im wrong). after some modifications and some of his own code then do what he wants with his finished product? a lite version would have been nice though.

I went and grabbed them all. I already had paid versions of all of them except for GBCoid, which is unnecessary I believe because if I remember correctly GBAoid plays all GB related games.
I could care less. Those other devs were not listing their emulators. Yongzh ported these to android WAY early in the android is devlopement. He keeps the apps updated and is continually answering questions and adding new features
If these guys are upset about then they should port their work to android themselves.
yongzh emulators were pulled from the market because of license violations. Some of of the code used in these emulators had a strict non-commercial license because the developers didn't want their work being sold for profit.

What a lame excuse to steal code. Oh and who cares everyone else is doing it but he did it first!?! This guy deserves to have them taken down, and money should be refunded to those that purchased it.
