I can't be sure but mine sounds like some kind a plastic and doesn't feel as smooth as my 002. Anyone else notice this? With the 002 my finger would just slide over the screen with the 003 it has more friction.

the only way to test it now is to cut lines of your favorite powdered products on the screen and see if they stick or slide~

I think the version is irrelevent. It's the build date that's important. Look inside the lower left inside of the battery cover and check for a date.

Haha, make sure your hands arent sweaty Humidity could make your hands even the slightest bit moist which will make your hand skip across the screen rather than slide.

i have an 003, and build date is oemthing like 5/07/2010, my screen is glass.

The hardware version seems to have nothing to do with what kind of screen is on the phone. Some folks over at XDA were checking the kernel logs on both versions and found that, while all 002 versions seemed to have Novatec screens, some 003s had Epson screens and some had Novatecs. I think HTC is just using whatever screens it has available for production at any given time.
