Help Google Voice - What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

I have a HTC Incredible and a Google Voice account. I want to use my Google Voice number for all outbound calls and texts. I installed the Google Voice application from the market, registered the cell phone number to the account and set it up so that Google Voice would be used for 'All Calls'. However, when I press the 'Phone' button and call someone in the Dialer, if seems to ignore GV and go through as a normal Verizon call with the cell phone's callerID.

I tried changing the GV setting to 'Prompt on each call', but I never get a prompt when dialing.

I uninstalled and reinstalled GV, still no luck.

Not running a task killer. I've restated the phone multiple times.

Any ideas on what's wrong?

Thanks!

I would imagine you would have to originate the call from within the GV app in order to use GV for the call.

I could be way off as I have not used GV yet but that would be my thoughts.

No not true, it works from the dialer.

I think your problem is you have to include the area code in your numbers. if you just do 555-1234 it will go through verizon but if you do 555-555-1234 GV will pick it up.
