Aug 11th Official Release Date

Just posted this in another thread a bit ago :)

Timing does seem right to steal the thunder away from the Torch and D2 coming out on the 12th. Let's hope this holds true!

Quick question - do you have to return your phone to the same store you purchased it from if it is within the 30 days? I'd hate to wait in line, then be rejected because it wasn't the original store in which i bought the original phone from!

I think it depends.... if you bought it from a Sprint store, any Sprint store would be okay to return it to. If you bought it from, say, Best Buy or Radio Shack, I'm pretty sure you're required to take it back there.

Thanks. I purchased from a sprint 'preferred retailer' in my area. Only store that had the Evo in stock at the time. (well, probably still!) The sprint website says return policy may differ at 3rd party stores, but doesn't exactly detail what may be different.

I suppose worse comes to worse I just return it completely if they don't have it in stock, working with that in mind august 11th is well before my 30 days is up.

cheers

Yeah, the whole Evo shortage is why I have the Intercept now. My Evo was screwing up on me for at least a month, and STILL no one was getting any in. So I just said forget it, and exchanged it for a phone that actually works. But yeah, good thing August 11th is before my 30 days are up as well :)

It's the 11th it makes perfect sense to release on that day, just 24 hurs prior to the release of the BB Torch & Droid 2 (both querty keyboard phones).

My next question, price! I hope they don't do like the Moment and price the Epic 50 bucks more than the Hero, or in this case the Evo.

If that's the case, I'm not getting it. That would be a bit too steep for me.

Technically, The Hero price dropped $50 when the Moment came out. On Hero's release day it was still something like $179. The same as the Moment on it's release day.

Yeah but when I bought the Moment it was for 250 with 100 dollars back (Sprint Store) I know I know but the guy gave me a 25% discount. This makes it more expensive and they told me it was because it was a full qwerty and had a faster processor so who says they won't pull that rabbit out of the hat again?
