Since you have one of the newest handsets possible please share your build date stamp and your hardware version. ##786# then scroll down to HW Version and the number. I'm very curious.

Ok. I got it at a Sprint store in Ga near Atlanta.

No it did not come pre-installed with Froyo. I did it w/ wifi and it took about 10 minutes all together.

HW version is 0003
Couldn't find bld date or stamp date. Where are those?

People have speculated that the date stamped on the door is the build date. There has been no confirmation of this so, for all we know this date along with the one by the battery, are just when the parts were built.

It is there is also a date stamp on the chassis if you take the battery door off its located just under the kick stand on the right hand side next to the black vibrator motor sticking up.

Not in all cases, older phones like mine don't have the date on the chassis.

I think the 7 on mine was also a T. SO mine would've been mcftd July 3rd

Um just gonna chime in here if anyone is interested, the one I just exchanged for earlier this week indicates July 8th 10, came with 2.1 and .47 ota update on it, hw 0003

Welcome to Evoville, Robinelli.
As you probably know from the Vibrant forum, I have both the Vibrant, and the Evo. While the Vibrant has a beautiful screen, and I love the memory capacity, I would NEVER trade my Evo for it.
The Evo runs so much smoother, and I think you will love it!

Just got mine today as well (replacement due to 2.2 brick). You have to update it yourself (as of the shipment that came in today. HW is 003

Just picked my up at best buy yesterday and I have a white one (not by choice lol) with hw version 003 and the date on the battery door is DT10.07.22 (7/22/10)

Well this is a good sign. It means they are still in production because the dates keep getting later and later as they should be. They must be just coming out of the plant at a snails pace however.
