How do I get the pictures from my Samsung Captivate into my computer?

Email them to yourself or use the USB cable that came with your phone.

Make sure your pictures are stored on your SD card. Move them there if they are not. Plug in the phone using the USB cable. The phone should ask you to connect as mass storage ... click the button. Your phone should mount as removable storage like a thumb drive. Browse to the folder with your pictures in it and copy them to your PC.

I plug my phone into the USB cable and nothing happens. It just charges.

Try this...

Connect your phone via USB and from the Home screen, touch > Settings >
Applications > USB settings > Mass storage.

Yes, and nothing shows up in "My Computer" either.

Try connecting your usb cable directly to the back of your pc or to a main usb port. I know on my mac it won't see my device unless i'm plugged into the back of the desktop. I also select mass storage for the usb and turn usb debugging on which is under development within applications.
