Help Galaxy S screen dimming and browser bookmarks

Hi all

I'm new to the world of Android having just had a Samsung Galaxy S delivered today (I'm coming from an iPhone 4, which I aim to use alongside the SGS).

There's a few things I'm trying to figure out, so I was wondering if anyone could help?

Firstly, I have turned off all auto-screen dimming options, yet when I start the browser it looks like the screen dims slightly. I'm not 100% certain that it is; I have tried flicking backwards and forwards between the home screen and the browser to see if it really is dimming or not, but it is very difficult to tell. Is the screen really dimming slightly when I open the browser, or are my eyes deceiving me?

The second I have is about how to get my bookmarks onto the device. My iPhone syncs with IE where I have a number of bookmarks categorised in different folders. Firstly, I can't figure out how to get these bookmarks across to the SGS, and secondly, I can't see anything on the SGS that allows me to create separate folders for my bookmarks. Can anyone offer any advice in relation to these 2 things?

For your 1st question....

Incase you dont know there is a separate brightness setting for the browser. You can access that by clicking on the "menu" button.....Selecting "more" and then "brightness setting" while the browser is open.


Maybe the browser brightness is set to minimum and thats why you are experiencing the dimming effect.


As for 2nd question NO IDEA!

Thanks, I eventually did find the separate brightness setting for the browser. It seems very odd that the browser would have it's own unique setting in this respect!
