Help Phantom email notifications?

This happens to me as well. I think it's due to server settings. I notice that when I get a notification if it hits my email account on outlook the email on my phone will disappear. Kinda irritating at times, but I'm at my computer 8 hrs a day at work and can usually get my email when I get home if it vanishes from my phone synch.

Did you find a resolution?
I think I might know what is happening..

All of my Gmails are in the Gmail program and all the rest(Yahoos) are using the Email program.

I got a mail notification today on one of my yahoo accounts and when I opened it,,,, Nothing there..

I looked around in that account and noticed that i had 1 unread message in my Junk Mail folder. It was for today at that time I got the notification.

Maybe we are getting notifications from our junk and spam folders.

Also I think that when I delete an email without reading it, it goes into the trash folder as unread and comes back as unread mail in that same account.

something to look for and see if it is this.

I have 5 email accounts coming to my phone. Sometimes, after receiving an email from one account I'll get a notification of new mail from that same account a few minutes later, but I won't actually have any new mail. It's getting kind of annoying. Is there any fix for that?

this happens to me with my msn accounts, but it only happens when i delete more than one email at a time ... then five mins later i get a notification... What seems to be happening it this ,,,,, remember when you first set up your email ( NOT gmail ) and it did that first sync , all your mail came in as new un_read mail, but , it only syncs so many @ a time , unless you hit sync more ... So i think after you delete some , it searches the server for new mail and if none is found it syncs an old email from the sever as a new email to your phone ..... when you get the notification , scroll down to the bottom of the list , there you will find old mail from your sever as new un_read .... The good thing is that new mail is at the top , old mail at the bottom still applies , so your mail is not messed up ... The only way I can think of to fix this is to keep hitting more mail at the bottom of the list till you sync everything from your sever and mark them as all as read ... but that sounds very time consuming so , when i get a notification and nothing new on the top of the list , i just scroll to the end and mark them all as read......

Hope this helps
