Can I backup some apps from 2.1 then convert to 2.2 with the same app backed up? Would it still work with the same data from 2.1?

I've done it with Mazeiod which isn't in the market. I can also do it with Doubletwist & Music Junk but it doesn't work with all apps. You can tell which apps you can restore. If they have a line through the name & has a smiley face or or M you can restore it. If it has a check you can't.

Anyone know what the smiley face & M icons are for?

you did this when converting from 2.1 to 2.2? 2.2 doesn't come with t.b. so you would have to download it..doing so would keep your 2.1 settings still??

Well I did it after I DL'ed 2.2. I flashed back to 2.1, backed up everything then flashed back. The settings stayed the same.

Yea back up from 2.1. I did the one click back up so I'm guessing it TB backed itself up along with the apps. All the back ups will be in the backup/restore tab. You won't have to restore it when you DL it again. You're gonna have to restore everything one by one. Just restore the data or you're reinstall the apps too, which takes forever sometimes.

Widget. Long press on screen-widgets-T.B. Select the action you want your widget to do. I chose "backup all user apps & system data". Presto, a back widget. It takes a while to back everything up but it's better than doing it one by one. BTW I was on his site He suggested a lot of things you should do before & after backing up & flashing to new Roms (rebooting, update version of busy box) None of which I did & nothing crazy happened.
