Help Accessing Android Ally form PC

Two issues in this post:

I have my Verizon LG Ally with Android and I try to connect to it from my PC running 64-bit Windows 7.
There are many reasons for that connection:
- downloading music to my Android
- sharing files and downloads
Is there a USB driver for my PC which will help me connect to my Android? I assume it should come with the phone, but I don't recall any disk or software that would come with the phone. Did I miss anything?
The Ally manual says that after I connect the phone to the PC, I should go to Notifications and touch "USB Connected". The thing is that I don't get any notification after I connect. Again - something is missing?

Second issue - I was trying to install PDANet on my phone.
Here is what happened:
1. Successfully installed all software on the phone.
2. Installed the USB thing (not bluetooth)
3. Turned on PDANet on the phone.
Now the phone gives me two options for my pc:
a) install the PDANet driver from junefabrics.com on the PC, or
b) connect phone to PC, from the PC go to the downloads folder on my phone and install driver from there.
The option b) is not possible because, as I stated in the beginning, I don't have connection to phone from PC (see first part of the post).
So the option is a), which is installing from junefabrics.com/android directly on PC.
The problem is that it doesn't want to install. At some moment the install procedure asks me to connect the phone wiht PDANET On with the pc, I do it, but there is still no connection. The automatic driver update doesn't work, when I go to device manager and try to update the driver it cannot find it, so it looks nothing works.
Did anybody here manage to install PDANet on Android and PC and have it working? If yes, are there any tips I need?

Thanks
Cezar

Found it! I figured it by myself before anybody even had a chance to read this post.
The answer is here: Drivers & Resources - LG Forum
Go to Verizon section and download and install the first driver. Once it's done, everything is working. The PC is connected and PDANet is working. In fact, I am posting this message using PDANet connection.
I am surprised why this driver doesn't come automatically with the phone...
