Help What exactly is sense?

I understand the ROM is the OS, the kernel is the interface, the radios are the drivers, but what is sense?

From what I've read so far it sounds like it's, for lack of a better way of explaining myself, "bigger" than the OS.

I'm rooted but got stuck before the nand unlock so never moved onto flash anything yet. maybe when I can set aside some time for it.

What is sense?
Is sense stock?
What are the other options?
Is there a comparison of all of the options somewhere that explains what is gained and lost in each?

Thanks.

Pretty much think of it as a User Interface on top of the OS, like a skin. You can load other UI's like launcher pro as an example which will change the way the OS and Phone looks and feels.

Sense is built by HTC and is exclusive to HTC phones.

The answer for "What is Sense?" has been answered.

"Sense Stock" is the original, unmodified version of Sense from HTC. Some devs modify Sense for various reason so it wouldn't be considered the "Stock" version.

And, for your last questions, do you mean what ROMS are available and a ROM comparison chart? There are many popular and not-so-popular versions of ROM out there. Check the XDA web site.

I haven't seen a ROM comparison chart yet but I've been looking for one, too.
