Accessories Battery water torture...

lithium ions and water do not mix. if you had detergents in the water that will also degrade the cell structure in the battery housing.

battery packs that use lithium ions have vent valves to vent excess heat to prevent overcharging... water and other containments (dirt, etc) could have easily gotten inside.

you may know some of this however i wanted to make sure we are on the same page.

i would NOT use this battery. for your safety and the safety of others around you. lithium ions are highly unstable...

Honestly i dont know bout this... I feel some might be worrying a little to much..

my friend had a Blackberry, that got submerged in water.. his daughter put it in the toilet.. He just put it in a bowl of dry rice for a day or 2 and it worked fine. Maybe do that with the battery the rice should suck out any harm and be ok :) or just stop being cheap and buy a new battery for fear it could blow up your house!

It isn't so much about worrying too much, it is a risk vs reward thing. No sense in risking a damaged phone, damaged charger, blown fuse in the home, or worse when $10 would avoid the whole situation.

While I agree with you on the risk/reward concept, the Seidio 1750mAh is $40 on average, not $10. I still agree though that the headache is not worth it (even for $40).
