How are files organized?

I have a new Galaxy S. There is a My Files application. When I launch it, it shows /sdcard/. Is this the contents of the internal SD card?

Under SD Card and Phone Storage, it shows three items: External SD card (which I have not inserted any), Internal SD card 5.78GB total and 5.69GB available, and Internal phone storage 1.80GB available (no mention of total).

How do I get to view the contents of Internal phone storage?

Thanks

Install a File Manager. Lots of them in the Market.

Thanks. But why? What is wrong or what are the limitations of My File? What else does it hide?

I would loath reporting to some unknown guy my position to the nearest 10 meters everytime I browse my file system, as most of the free apps are prone to do.

Why are you suggesting that file managers ceck your position? find one that dose not, lots of them in the Market, both free and paid.
