Just to let you all know there is an OTA maintenance release to update your firmware.

My friend told me about it this morning and it resolved an issue with the phone not synching correctly with the Market. At least that was her major issue with it and it resolved it. Although, that was not what was listed as one of the fix/enhancement per the Sprint site, check out the last bullet:

LG Optimus S (LS670) Maintenance Release - LS670ZV9

Enhancements/Fixes

  • Remote Wipe Command
  • Enhanced password policies: length, alphanumeric, expiration, history, max failed attempts, inactivity lock, password recovery to the device.
  • Set Out of Office messages from the device
  • Accept/decline/tentatively accept meeting requests from the device
  • Corporate directory contacts search while composing email
  • Delete Exchange Calendar meeting requests and notify participants from the device
  • Modifying an Exchange Calendar meeting request (change date/time, add/remove participats) and notify participants about the meeting modifications
  • Add Swype keyboard functionality as an option when entering text

Important Notes:
You can see all LG Optimus S Maintenance Releases, install instructions, and subscribe to receive updates here.
This update will be released in stages with 100% of all devices having received the update by 11/18.

Or for the impatient:

Download this:
http://files.mysticmidnight.net/zefie/files/cell/LG670/roms/stock/3b293d854446.LS670ZV8_V9_Inc.zip

Put on your SD Card, in the root folder.
Rename to update.zip
Shut down your Optimus S properly using the power button.
When it shuts down, pull the battery.
Replace the battery.
Power on by holding Volume Up and Home. While holding those, press Power.

Wait for recovery menu to come up
Navigate down to "apply from sdcard:update.zip", using the Volume Down key.
Select it using the menu key (directly right of home key).

Enjoy.

Edit: Some are saying Volume Up + Home doesn't work, if it doesn't try Volume DOWN + Home

I have my optimus for a week now, and it is really nice!

I am noticing, though, that after the first few days, (I'm pretty sure it was soon after the update), it started to develop some lag immediately following the screen unlock. Flipping to the apps screen from the home screen is a slow fade, instead of the zippy animation that it used to be. The notification drawer won't slide down right away. I'm wondering if someone can help me with this. Did I install too many apps? Did the OTA update somehow slow it down?

Send as many apps as you can to SD card, clean applications cache now and again, restart your phone once a day. My phone is running as fast as ever when I do these things. Also don't use a task killer at all. I did initially and noticed severe lag. I uninstalled it and phone is faster than ever. Task killers are totally unnecessary.
