Help Usb Driver and Mass storage mode

Hey guys, I downloaded the latest Android SDK. It comes with the usb driver.
I installed the Android ADB Interface driver.

When I plug in my phone, it shows up in the device manager, and my android phone sees that it's plugged in, and also has the little debugging icon so it knows the driver is loaded.

However.....

A) I can't get mass storage device mode to do anything on my pc. There is no hard drive/storage device detected.

B) The android sdk cannot connect to my android. It's not detectable.

I've enabled and disable debugging mode and enabled/disabled Mass storage mode with no luck.

The strange part is, in my laptop (where I run linux mint), ADB connects fine, and I can also access all files in mass storage mode no problems.

Anyone have anything like this happening too? or know how to fix it? I don't see anyone to download an LG specific usb driver, so it's as close as I got.

I'll try that USB driver. Hopefully it works.

As for the disk management, I got 5 hard drives so that's the first place I checked nothing there hidden away unmounted. The usb device just says no driver found, even when in mass storage mode. I'll try the driver tonite after work and let you guys know.

Hey that driver worked like a charm :) something like 8 different devices showed up. Thanks a lot!. I thought the android drivers were like nvidia ones, where it was generic to all androids. I didn't spot that resource tab on lg's site.

Yep, funny how it just works with Mac without any driver downloads, yet for my windows PC i had to go hunting for LG drivers. Also the LG driver updater software that was installed updated the driver multiple times before it started working.

ok i have an uptimus u (rooted) and want to be able to use mass storage device capabilities on any computer without installing drivers, i do computer service and frequently need to install utilities on customers computers and would love to avoid having to carry a separate thumb drive, also would be handy to be able to run portable apps directly from my phone on any computer without having to load drivers first

is this possible, with or without a hack

thanks

Sorry, not possible.

I wish it were possible. All the computers at work (I use a half dozen a day all over the building) are locked down. I can plug in my phone to charge, but can't use it as a storage device because I cannot install the LG drivers on those computers.

Plus, what if you need to use the phone to talk on the job while the phone is tied up being used as a storage device on the computer?
