Google Calendar - subscribed calendar not showing up

On my Google calendar (on the Desktop) I subscribe to a calendar showing all Red Wings games. (I just searched under Add > Browse Interesting Calendars. For the life of me I can't get it to show up on my phone. It doesn't show up in my calendars list under the menu. I've had this problem for weeks. Any ideas?

I'm using a Droid 2.

I'd be fine with just copying all the events to my google calendar instead of just subscribing to an outside calendar, but I don't know how to do that either.

Thanks

The sports calendars don't sync to the gmail calendar. I'm not sure why this is.

I did that with the Patriots games and was bummed they didn't sync automatically.

I had to go into my gCalendar online and create a duplicate for each game it to show on my phone.

This is correct, no sports calendars will sync to your phone. Some people have had success going to yahoo and adding a yahoo calendar for your team to your gmail calendars. That worked for me for a while, but then it quit working also

Hey guys,

I think I figured out a solution, but not sure if it will work for everyone. I follow Pitt Men's Basketball, but like you, my Pitt Panthers calendar wouldn't sink with my droid X google calendar.

I went to pittsburghpanthers.com and then clicked schedules, and in the schedules, there was an option to link to google calendar. When I clicked that link, it opened a new tab with a calendar showing Pitt basketball. On the bottom right of that page there was a little plus sign and the word calendar, which when pressed created a new "other calendar" for me. This other calendar (as opposed to the google pitt panther sports calendar) did sync and show up on my phone.

I went to the red wings site and found this: 2010-11 Red Wings Downloadable Schedule - Detroit Red Wings - Schedule. I guess they only have a calendar that will sink with outlook or lotus or one other program... but then you can import the calendar from there into google calendar, if I am not mistaken.

Looking to continue this thread for answers....

I subscribe to US Holidays in Google Calendar it synced to my Incredible perfectly fine in 2010. Now in the new year 2011 the US holidays calendar does not sync with my Incredible. I'm still subscribed in GCal and the dates show up fine in the browser. I've tried adding and removing the calendar sync manually from the device and tried refreshing the calendars and it still doesn't show up... Does anyone know why this is?

To get the sports calendars to sync, you have to add the event to your calendar. On the desktop Google calendar, click on the event, not on the link but on the time of the event, when the balloon pops up you can select "copy to my calendar". Not ideal because it shows the event twice on your desktop calendar. but just once on your Android calendar. I suppose you could do that with all of the games and then unsubscribe from the sports calendar to only have one instance showing.

They are still showing up on my phone just like normal.

Not on mine. The calendar shows up, but none of the holidays appear for 2011.

I ended up logging in to Google Calendar website and downloading them as an ical file and reimporting them as a new calendar.

Isn't it weird? To make things more weird, I have another account and the holidays calendar associated with that account shows up and syncs with the calendar app but not the one I had been using..:(

All you need is an .icv file or any other that can be imported to your online Google Calendar through your desktop.

For example, I follow Manchester United. I found the schedule of United games in ".icv" format by googling and downloaded it to my PC. Its just kB in size. Now open Google Calendar in your browser and go to Settings, from there locate "Import Calendar". Now you browse to the file on your desktop and upload. It will be added to your personal calendar.

Now sync your phone and Viola!!. Don't miss any action of your sports team.
