I have pretty decent wifi in my house (netgear router etc) but my version 1 motorola droid has wifi issues. Its just not the best when it comes to wifi. Its OK its a phone first and using 3G has always been better than wifi on this phone.

Sometime this year I will be getting a new one and really want better wifi so I can drag files off and onto this device.

Does anyone rate the wifi performance of these devices?

Thanks,

OP, I haven't had any WiFi issues on my Droid with either reception or speed. Unless your home ISP is a slow DSL connection (less than 1Mbit down/up), then WiFi should be faster. It's definitely faster on my phone as shown on the Speed Test app in the market.

I haven't ever seen reviews mention WiFi performance on new phones either as they're pretty much all the same as far as reception and performance goes (I'm sure there's exceptions though). Usually it's a non-issue.

Can you be a little more specific about what these issues might be? Also, what kind of Netgear router are you using (g, n, dual-band n, etc.)? The D1 can be finicky with certain combinations of router settings and certain n-routers.
