Mobile Network Issues after battery drain

I just got my Hero from Sprint last week and I love it! But I have one small problem. When my battery drains and the phone shuts itself off (ie powers down). After I charge it up and turn the phone back on I have no service, if I try to go turn my mobile network back on it wont allow me to open the program and it forecloses on itself. The only way I am able to do ANYTHING on the phone or use it is to reset it to factory settings which causes me to lose EVERYTHING!
Has anyone had this problem or know of anyway to fix it when this happens?

I was having somewhat of a similar issue which led me to explore why my battery drain was happening so fast. Download the app "advanced task killer" and click on it a couple of times a day and that should handle the drain problem.

You original problem I combated by shutting the phone completely down again and rebooting.

Try asking on the sprint forums more chance of getting it sorted out.

Yes there is a sprint forum but it maybe a phone thing not a sprint thing.

Anyway I'm no techie but what I have done is have the airplane app on 1 of my homescreens so if i ever get a network problem I put it in airplane mode then turn it back. The phone reboots the network. May help. Or the obvious answer dont let the battery drain:D
