Wow, great work as always, guys! LOVE the battery indicator... saves some statusbar space because
I no longer need Smart Battery Monitor.

One question: the Terminal is now a couple clicks deep, in theVelocity Toolkit. I tried
downloading a couple other free terminals from the Market, but they fc every time I try to
start them up. Is there a way to get a shortcut right on the desktop to the terminal,
or does anyone know of a terminal emulator that will work?

Yeah, why, does that make a difference?
And I guess I'm still having an issue with splash anim. too!
Other than that, my action is runnin' nice and fast and smooth!!!!

Ummm... did you not read where I said that some of the data entries are causing the issues???? If you wipe and then turn right around and restore the data, what was the point of wiping to begin with????

Simply restore apps and ONLY apps. No other data.

And FYI, being a smart ass by rolling your eyes will get you nowhere with me.

Okay, I'll give that a shot. Is there an option in TiBu to restore apps only(not apps and data) in batch mode, or do I have to re-store each one individually? Thanks a lot!

Sorry, I was just playin' around.I was actually mocking myself, kinda tongue in cheek. I'm working on my proper txt etiquette. At least my girl tells me I need to!!
Again, I'm sorry and thanks for your help.

Thank you dev team. I'll be sure to make a donation soon.

One hiccup with the install.
I read the instructions, backed up in Titanium, nandroid backup, wiped, flashed the new rom and everything looked good. At first boot it got stuck on the following screen:
VE
LO
CI
TY

I figured it may have been a corrupt download. So I re-downloaded the rom, wiped then flashed. Works great now!

One question.
I get the OTA update message from Verizon every now and then. How do I disable this? I don't want their crappy build, Velocity kicks too much ass.

Answered my own question, or at least found a solution... Launcher Pro lets you create shortcuts to apps' actions, so I created one to the Velocity Toolkit's Terminal Emulator action.

Simply spectacular! The Ally suddenly feels less outdated. This is easily the fastest and cleanest ROM out there that still retains enough of the features of the stock to keep me happy.

In case anyone is considering using the ROM Manager app (in the market) to install this, I installed Velocity 1.1 with no issues earlier today.

From my rooted phone, it was about a 3 minute process to install the recovery and Velocity ROM with ROM Manager...much easier than dealing with command line, IMHO.

Great ROM but one thing I wish they would make available in addition to Velocity 1.1 is a zip file of all removed stock programs (APK files) so people could easily have everything in one place to add some of them back if they need it.

This would be awesome because I actually would like prefer to keep the LG calendar and SMS apps. I understand that the devs prefer certain applications but that doesn't mean we all like the same things, choice would be good... after all isn't that why we are all flashing anyways? To untie our hands from the imposed decisions the cell companies give us?

I would do away with rom manager and clockwork mod recovery. They have had issue with the ally (and others i believe) Velocity should have put the latest amonra recovery on there anyway which operates pretty close to clockwork and flashing in recovery isnt any more complicated than with rom manager

There is a post in the all things root section, should be pretty recent. Title "calender issue. . . ." Or something like that it has links to stock calendar apks and instructions to install

Hey so I did a full wipe {both data and cache} I haven't had any mms problems, however, maps no longer finds my location. I've tried to use it several times in different locations and it still won't work (I even tried with wifi connected). Any help?

Do you have gps on? Maybe try redownloading from market. Also gps is weak, if your indoors that may be the problem.

Y are we having alot of problems installing this? Just download, flash, done? ~sigh
Thinking of adding a touch panel to framework since my back and find buttons are goen. Wonder how hard that would be

The hard keyboard has them. I saw an odd pic in the ally forum of what looked like those buttons (maybe others) on the screen. I dont think the person was rooted. I know it doesnt help you at all but you reminded me of it.

Quick question. Does this still report battery increments in 20% chunks, or are there more? I put this one the wifes phone last night and noticed that there were more charging animations. Are there more indicators too? If so what are all the levels? I was going to make a battery theme for metamorph, but I dont know how many levels there are for status and charging.

I wipe ALL data/factory reset and flash Velocity 1.1.
Problem:
On 3G any http sites works fine but https not work. Syncing gmail failed with "No network connection". Opera Mini work fine only HTTP(advanced settings) but not work via Socket(advanced settings). On Wi-Fi connetion ALL works Fine. I need 3G! I'm not in Verizon network and can't dial *228 in the dialer and choose option 1 to reprogram my phone. Any Ideas?
Good news
On Velocity 1.0 I have 1% per hour battery drain in standby.
On Velocity 1.1 I have 5% per 24 hour battery drain in standby. Fantastic!!! Thank you!
