Help Hot phone and lockups?

Is anyone else noticing that when the phone is in their charging cradle that it get's hot?

Mine does that quite often, then if I recieve a call or text the phone will completely freeze and I have to do a battery pull. It started about 2 days ago and has been happening a few times a day. No new apps have been installed, and it's not rooted so I'm at a loss.

The only place i've noticed that mine has gotten really hot is when in the car dock when charging. The other day while using it as a GPS it got so hot a popup notification stated it was overheating and recommended i take the battery out and put in a cool place. That kinda scares me.

Wondering if anyone else has had any overheating problems like this.

I woke up this morning to a fully charged device on the nightstand next to me. I checked my emails, looked at a couple facebook updates and noticed the phone starting to feel warm.
After about 10 minutes the phone starts to feel really warm and I get a message on the screen stating "heat sensor detected remove battery or move to a cool place". Before I was able to get the cover off the phone shut itself down.

about 15 minutes later I put the battery back in and replace the cover and restart. A message box advises me that "the phone was shut down to prevent overheating"....The battery is now at 64%..

I start going thru my emails again and feel the phone startingto get warm.....not 10 minutes after restart the heat sensor message pops up again. I'm thinking this isn't normal..

Off to the Verizon store.

I have noticed the two demo units I tested get hot and even beat the DX2 for heat, but the plastic insulates it from the hand. The Rev was pushing 120 degrees and memory was dipping down past 60mb. Almost as low as the DX2. The issues seemed to happen after playing Flash content on the Rev- just like the DX2 issues...

Reboots fixed the Rev. Both demo units have the demo software loaded on them (if that matters).

That said, the TB also seems to get hot and my Incredible does too. The plastic covers the heat. The DX2 transfers it to the hand, due to the metal.

Something very similar happened to my Revolution this weekend....did Verizon do anything to solve your problem?

Yeah same here, woke up to my revo saying you phone has been shut down from overheating or something, so i took it to Verizon they said they are aware of the problem. I guess it was something caused from the new v8 update... and they say they are already fixing it and will have an ota update "soon" whenever that is.

I tether a lot and my phone naturally gets hot but since this update battery life stinks and it shuts down on its own. i seriously put my phone in the freezer one day because I thought it was going to start melting LOL.
