What's your favorite MLB team?

One team that does seem to be tumbling are the Pujols-less Cards. 3 game losing streak, and under .500 for their past I think 15 games? (I know for sure past 10 games). Won't be long before the Reds pass them up in the NL Central. Speaking of which, a big "WTF" goes out to the Pirates for having a record above .500 this late into the season. Maybe they'll finally make a playoff run this season? Lol

I dunno about the Pirates. I'm calling fluke. The Brewers are looking BEASTLY behind strong pitching from their rotation and explosive offense by Fielder, Braun and Weeks.

That's why I added an "Lol" at the end:D;) .. although it definitely is weird seeing them over 500 this late into the season. I think they're only 3 games back of the Brewcrew too.

they know they aint getting paid this week and they are pissed:D

They will get paid regardless. MLB seizing control means they are in charge of funding for operations (including active player salaries) until a new buyer has been found. That doesn't include inactive players like Manny Ramirez though who is due $8.8M by the Dodgers + Frank McCourt. That dumbass should've let his wife win the team so she could be all stressed out over this crap.

1 vote for the brew crew :) wisconsin native here.

Not looking forward to battling the evil empire today. Will we have to see CC? Hope not...miss that guy terribly lol.

Brewers have been pretty inconsistant this year so far. Greinke finally looked pretty good his last two times out. Gallardo is starting to settle down a bit. Only problem is that roeneke (mgr) is using the BP way too much. And using the same guys too much...Kam Loe must have more innings than just about all other relievers in the league right now. No wonder he blows leads a lots. Needs a rest. Let the starters go beyond the 7th inning for once...thats why they get paid the big bucks. Just my .02.

Also, crew just made some spots open on their roster, so there may be a trade coming soon to bolster some positions. If they got consistant help from the 5-8 spots in the order, they would be a NASTY team. right now, you get through the top 4, you can cruise pretty well.

MIL being the small market team that it is, doesn't have players that "make the big bucks" besides Braun. Fielder is due for a HUGE pay day and Greinke will be too after next season. Regardless, they are a good team but they do need help in the bullpen as you stated. They have the making to perhaps be a playoff caliber team this season.

yeah I really didn't want to start talking about the whole payroll thing, its pretty frustrating in MLB the way its set up. Pretty lame honestly. a team like the brewers gets to develop all this talent, only to have them leave to get bigger money elsewhere because some other team can afford it....pretty lame.

But, I don't think the brew crew's BP is really that bad, I think its more how Roeneke uses it. He uses certain guys too much (K. Loe) and others not nearly enough (hawkins??). This year's trade deadline shall be an interesting one...haven't been keeping up on rumors or anything, but I know as of today, brewers have 36 of 40 roster spots filled, so they have space either for promotions or a trade or two. We shall see soon.

That goofy beard is tied for first in the majors in saves:p

Nah, I don't hate the Phillies.. I'm just frustrated they took all the good pitchers out there and tried to match up with us:D:rolleyes:

Actually I Think all the closers should show up for the All Star game with the beard. A tribute, as it were.

It looks like We have a few bats tonight, too.

That beard is now the ML SV leader:D

I wish we could play the Central divisions all season lol. Took the series from the Twins (lost the single game where Bumgarner threw 0.1 innings so that was a fluke considering he struck out 11 the start after that), swept the Indians, and today, won both games in the double header vs the Cubbies. 7 game winning streak thanks to AL/NL Central:) Got Lincecum pitching tomorrow so that should be a hell of a game.

Well that game was a ****** to watch. Relievers completely blew that game after cueto out pitched price

Actually, if you look at the stat line - Price outpitched Cueto. Cueto was charged w/ 3 ER. Regardless, both starters were pretty effective.

I thought the Lee vs Beckett matchup would've been a duel but Philly put Boston to shame which makes me happy b/c now we're up 1.5 in the East. Yay.

Hawkins sucks. That's why they aren't going to use him often. He pitches terrible under pressure and he's injury prone.

I think it was the first time I saw Longoria smile all season.

You're welcome ;)

Yeah, I thought it would have been closer than that. I watched Domonic Brown come up through the farm system (as an Iron Pig -- a ****ing stupid team name) and he's got the kind of bat the Phillies need. His defense, though is only so-so. Beckett was just throwing too many cookies. It could have been worse.

All the boys from NY did a bit of damage last night. The Yankees were no surprise, but two slams by the Mets?

well, for my sanity I hope the brew crew decides to show up tonight, cuz obviously they didn't last night. That was ugly. They play horrible on the road. And their interleague schedule was just brutal this year... Rays, BoSox, Yankees and the twins twice. ugh. Almost over.

Hawkins last year had his share of breakdowns, no doubt about it. In pretty sparse action he has done pretty well this year. Dont know what his stats were from last nite, but for the year he hasn't been horrible by any means.

If the crew plan on doing anything this season beyond just "qulifying" for the playoffs, they need to learn to play on the road, they have been abysmal all season long, and last night just continued that streak...
