Help clearing ram

is it safe to clear the RAM in the task manager? and if I do clear it will that help speed up my Samsung Galaxy S 4G phone>>>>>>my phone does still run pretty fast but I was hoping if I clear RAM that might give it a little more speed>>>>>peace to all

Your best bet is to just let the system manage itself.. and don't use a task killer, they're bad for android. If you really need to speed things up a bit consider getting rid of apps/widgets that hog resources such as widgets that constantly run and poll for information (weather widgets, facebook widgets, twitter widgets, etc.).
