Quick Charge?

I've been reading and tried to quick charge with wifi in instead of 4G, it has been 2 hours and I am at 53%.

There is no "quick charge" and if you really want to charge your phone "faster" put your phone in airplane mode to turn off raidios (data/calls) you can use wifi.

or better yet and for the fastest charge. Turn your phone complete off!

*note* using your phone while charging will slow it down. Also, make sure you're using the given OEM charger or one equiv to it. IF you check the milamps on the batter it's a higher milamp than most phones, also the charger has a dif Volt and Amp output for charging the battery.

You can damage the battery and posb the phone by using a higher volt/amp charger or lower. be very careful which charger you use.

I believe the OEM LG Charger for the Esteem is 4.8volts and 1.0amps (you'll notice the usb cable is a thicker gauge wire.

Haven't seen any info listed about car chargers, so what about a universal car charger?


I bought a generic universal charger at a Metro dealer store for my Ascend back in January, and not sure of the volts and amps.

I did some research and found my charger shows 'MYBAT' and has 'MOT-V8/V9/V9m' on the side. I found a unit that looks like mine listed at the myvoicecomm website (product id 6752).
This page shows that it is compatible with Esteem and has circuitry to prevent overcharging, so I guess it should be ok. I am just worried since you mentioned about damaging the battery and I am not sure if this is the exact same model.

I'm sure the charger you've looked at is fine. If you really want to get technical then stick with a 4.8volt 1.0a charger (which are the OEM charger specs)

Using other chargers will work and be ok, the only down fall is you might get improper chargers which consitantly over a longer period of time will decrease the batteries life span.

I have a luckypack its a 5400mah ..I use that to charge my phone when I'm out n about..and not by a outlet..it works very well..

Ok, it seems imposible to find a 4.8 volt usb charger ,so my qestion now is it okay to use a 5 volt charger instead? Would the extra .2 volts damage the phone?

I too would like to know if using a higher voltage charger be ok. My brother gave me an extra wall charger that i've been using for the past week. The charger reads 5.1V and 0.7A

Any thoughts?

No. A higher voltage will just charge the battery faster. If its something dramatic then it might damage the battery.. .2 you're fine.

Also for the car charger, if your voltage isn't regulated then it can throw for xtra volts through out you electricle system. Newer cars are more than likely fine. Olddies might not be, unless you have a stable voltage regulator. (That info was given to me by a machanic so if its true idk. I personally haven't tested it yet.)
