Or have you been here all along and I just didn't see you hiding in plain sight? :p

what's up chief? can't believe you beat me to guide status, but congrats! :p

i haven't been in here long, i tried not to post at all after going through this with the thunderbolt release, but i couldn't resist. my g-tablet has been all but retired as all development has stopped on the 1.1 BL, but it was fun while it lasted. looking forward to becoming a Nexican! hopefully we hear something soon.

So in the first episode of On The Verge (The Verge), Matias Duarte said that the phone is coming to Verizon and that you can get it in November. Sounds to me like the release will take place by the latest Nov. 30 if not sooner. After all, Google is having an event today, so with all the buzz, Verizon might want to capitalize. At least, I choose to believe that, and it doesn't really seem far-fetched. I'm excited.

C'mon guys... Samsung said we've completed it. Google said, we've completed it. Both have said (begged) for VZW to make the announcement.

This is 100% about money at this point. If VZW thought they'd make more money releasing it now, we'd be ordering it right now (if nothing more than presales) - think about what Canada is doing. Likely, this is more about losing less money (more RAZR sales), in relationship to not losing too many with a GN delay.

FYI - I don't think that they have anything invested in the Rezound. I've been to 3 stores. Both have one display phone off in corner. I've had to search for it in both store. The RAZR is like every other phone display.

This is why I think it has nothing to do with U.S. delays. If it was only software related, they'd just do an OTA upon boot up. There's no reason to delay it.

I haven't heard anything about parts delays, particularly 4G chip delays, which would affect the US launch. The fact that UK isn't being delayed proves that Google and Samsung kept up their end of the deal. BMX, a Google employee (and at a good position, based on him being sent by his company to the UK for the launch), has said that they met their end of the bargain on time.

OS delays could be fixed OTA immediately upon turning on the phone at the store.

Phone scheduling. This would indicate Verizon's culpability. I can only assume that device deals are done way in advance. Why they decided to release 3 huge deals within weeks of each other, and botching it up in the process, is beyond me.

Just because a corporation is huge, it doesn't mean that the string pullers aren't idiots. And it doesn't mean that they're not total a-holes. In fact, most huge corporate string pullers are total a-holes. They almost have to be.

There have been rumors along all those lines. A major OS issue that makes it incapable of getting an OTA update cannot be shipped. Keep in mind the battery is also changed, so the larger battery, or rear back plastic portion may have been behind as well.

I'm not going to argue at the executive level, some decisions truely baffle me. I'm also going to agree fully that I'm frustrated at the lack of info and no set release schedule.

But I'm also wise enough to know that I don't know everything. Perhaps the Verizon date was never this early, and because of the UK release, we all just assumed. Point is, we don't know, and I don't necessarily believe the notion that Verizon is a giant clusterbum who can't get out of thier own way. While big companies certainly aren't infallable, you have to admit they generally have to make good decisions to make money. Just because those decisions don't line up with yours doens't immediately make it bad one.

Can I just point out that being available in one store in the country does not imho count as "a launch"? That's what it's looking like right now, and that's a nonsense. I could have walked in to CPW and bought a Nokia Lumia today, on its launch day....

unlimited data lasts as long as you continue to pay for a data plan. cancel your data package and you will never get it back. although the double data deal they are running right now is a decent alternative.

Yeah I have to do the double data thing because I had a brain malfunction and when I got a tablet I activated a dumb phone on my phone line for a few days until I got a different smart phone and now I ruined my grandfathering unlimited plan. No idea what the heck I was thinking when I did it, obviously I wasn't! The double data should work out alright though, I never really went over 4 Gb anyway.

If this was about anything other than the RAZR, then we'd have a GN presale right now with a ship date of no later than 12/17. Everybody wins in that scenario except the RAZR and abysmal RAZR sales.

they are also announcing a bunch of LTE cities tomorrow. i would love nothing more than vzw saying... and you can now use the galaxsus neximus in those locations too.

i can still hope.

Well guys, I caved in and bought a RAZR last night. I couldn't stand using my old crappy flip phone, my girlfriend was getting annoyed because I hated texting on that thing, and I had to jump off this emotional roller coaster for a bit. I bought it with the intent on returning it for the Nexus once it is released, but after playing with it...wow. It really is a great phone. It is hard to believe but now I am not 100% sure if I will be giving it back...I mean, most likely I will, but we'll see once we actually have a date on the Nexus. Til then, I guess I am still observing the Nexus roller coaster...but observing from the ground instead of being on the ride lol.

EDIT: And I had the worst Customer Service experience EVER. WOW. It was horrible.

Hmmm. Maybe that's why I'll never be a Guide.

Hahaha! :D

You and me both. Those Mod/Guide Saints have some real patience. People come into the middle of the thread posting stuff that has already been and the like would get a smoking gun.

On one thread a fellow said he had a pre-release GN with no pics or vids.

So I reply with a, "No pics or vids, no phone, sorry".

Then he posts a vid and I am prompted to apologize? Heh! Some folks really expose their lack of understanding eh?

Technically the apology was included in the original statement!

What does the RAZR have going for it? Amoled and thinness. GN has a better amoled screen and almost as thin (or at least thin enough that nobody would care). The GN replaces the RAZR in every way with better specs. Any semi-intelligent person walks into store... puts the two devices together with appearance/specs and picks the GN 100% of the time. RAZR sales halt to ZERO when the GN is released.
