Hi guys, I looked for a similar problem in a few threads, but didn't find any, so here's what I have

I got my N1 about 10 days ago. Charged the battery. Updated. Worked fine
Yesterday, I decided to go to a place, where they install Invisible Shield and the guy did a pretty good job. later the same day, I noticed that the screen turns black, immediately after I place a call, without placing the phone next to my ear or even picking it up. I could hear the voice of the other caller, but since the screen is black, I couldn't disconnect or access the controls. I could wait for the other person to hang up but that is unacceptable. When if I had to check my voice mail, I had to remove the battery. Also, when someone calls me, the screen turns black again, so now I can't answer the call

Long story short. I called Google support on the phone and explained what the problem is. At the time, it didn't occur to me, that the problem might be the Invisible Shield screen protector. After all, I have had one installed on my IPhone with no issues. So, the guy makes me do some general troubleshooting and suggests, that the problem is the sensor for touch and light, which is placed in the upper left corner. Connects me to HTC and I am now waiting for a replacement.

However, today I decided to take off the screen protector and my N1 now works just fine. I immediately called my friend who's got a N1 with full body Inv Shield and he doesn't have the problem.

I want some protection for my screen, so taking it off is not an option

Anyone had any similar problems?

I didn't have this problem.

Invisible Shield made the touch sensitive Home, Back, etc buttons almost unusable though so I took it off.

I too have always used Invisible Shield in the past, but this issue was too much if a pain. It was also the worst cut and therefore fitting invisible shield I have ever had. Too many pieces making it look messy and poor coverage of the corners.

Not using anything on the phone now.

Hm. I would say I've had the opposite experience. Too sensitive, in a way
Clearly, they have a problem with it. Hope they address it. I'll keep you posted on my other phone arriving tomorrow
