I'm [insert title here]. I have a few questions...

1) Do I just unzip, edit the PNG files and place the editted ones in the original and that's it or do I need to do a realign and sign in APK manager?

2) When replacing the original on my phone do I have to use ADB push or can I just put it on my SD card and move it to the proper folder and overwrite the original?

3) If ADB push is a must can someone give instructions on how-to?

If this info is elsewhere just a link will help. I've been Googling for the past couple hours but nothing dumbed it down enough for me.

In case this info is needed, I'm on HTC Evo running MikG 2.59.

if ur using apk manager, just extract and replace the icons in the app folder, compile it, zip-align in, sign it. Uninstall old app on phone then install new one. adb is not necessary

for framwork-res, don not sign it. it's a system apk and wil cause force closes at best boot loops at worst.

if you are just changing PNGs, there is no need to compile or zip align, just replace the images in the framework.
you can register apk as a valid type for 7zip. so it can be really easy, no need to rename the file zip and rename the file again.

this wont work if editing .9.pngs. you will need to do something to fix the images after you edit them or they wont 'stretch' right

also if you have root explorer you can just copy them on top of the original, but I rerecomend you back them up first. change the permissions to match the orginals 'BEFORE' you move them you your system directory, and expect forece closes as soon as the copy is complete ununtil you reboot.

I use drop box to get them on my phone and root explorer to move them
