Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Hi kids! Been off for quite a while. Retired. Enjoyed the holidays. Missed the banter. Am sure it's probably already been discussed at length, but could someone give me a quick response as to why my phone has started to randomly shut off and reboot? Didn't have this problem when I got it on release day. Any wisdom for Grandma? And thanks in advance.

Welcome back! :)

Me, I have no help on those matters, hopefully others do.

Maybe a newly installed app running amok?

Any chance you're rooted? I ask because I was having random reboots on mine. I've flashed a new kernal and this time left the volts default and I haven't had a reboot in two days.

Welcome back! Have you read this thread?:

Seems it's mostly affecting the GSM version, but some VZW folks have claimed it too. Hasn't happened to me. Don't have any weird apps installed and am running AOKP 20. But, like Ron said, are you rooted and running a custom ROM/kernel?

I use tasker with nfc task launcher. Has anyone noticed that the order you list things under tasker seems to effect whether they work the way you intended in NFC? When I have them execute under tasker they do exactly what i want. However when I load them to a tag as a profile, they do not. I played with the order of the tasks in tasker and that seemed to get the nfc to execute the tasker the way I intended. Does this make sense or is something else causing this to act this way?

I dropped off my W2s for taxes. I was asked if I purchased anything over the internet because PA is tired of losing money for sales tax on internet sales. WHO in the their right mind would say, "Oh yeah. I have. And here is a detailed list of everything I bought. Please take more money from me."

@BB-did you watch The Wars?

I rewatched Episode 4 so I can watch 5 & 6 this week. Won't be tonight though. :(
I go from full time job to my once a week part time job to bowling

Alabama does the same, except they go a step further and ask if you bought anything outside the state of Alabama...this could go as far as to say if you buy anything from another state, internet or not, then they want you to report it. LOL!! Yeah right!

Wow...I have not been here in a long time. Hmm...

So out of that RSRSS 'feed' up there, one article made me laugh and then question the intelligence (or at least tech aptitude) of a whole editorial staff:

http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-nexus-with-trinity-kernel-47797/ said:
When Samsung created the Galaxy Nexus, it was probably aware of the number of hacks, mods, roms, and kernels that people would attempt to install in it. However, they might not have expected that it would be an easily unlocked device.
Bolding mine.

Really? Was Samsung unaware that the GNex was easily unlockable? I can only imagine their surprise when they learned that developers were developing (GASP!) on this phone. Being only the second Nexus Samsung has made, it surprises me that they caught on so quickly. :p

Thought you all might enjoy that. I did, and I had to share.

Same here - I've noticed that same thing. I haven't spent enough time yet figuring out the order that works best. I have my tag turn off 3 apps - sometimes it'll turn all of them off, and sometimes only 1 or 2. Have you figure out any rhyme or reason to the order that works best?

Here's a thread that has recently touched on this topic a bit:

BTW panorama mode on this camera is ridiculous.

Took this last Friday afternoon -- missed my train for it, but totally worth it.

Hey all! Trust you had a good weekend? Mine was fun, took the training wheels off my oldest' bike. He did so well, probably have it down by next weekend at the rate he was improving. I must say, the video quality of this phone is very pleasing to me, as we replayed his progress on my TV last night, it looked better than our camcorder footage.

I have become addicted (or re-addicted) to Robo Defense, I just wish the levels didn't last so long.

Taxachusetts tries that too. They call it a use tax. They even tried forcing Town Fair Tire (a regional company I think) into having NH stores charge Massachusetts sales tax for customers with Mass tags because they had stores in Massachusetts.

Supreme Judicial Court shot them down of that but it does seem nervy.
