im trying to downgrade firmware to install a custom rom (MIUI) i follow all the steps from here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Desire_Z:_Firmware_Downgrade_(Gingerbread)

everything works fine until the end. my phone reboots, bootloads the PC10IMG.zip then gives me a Model ID Incorrect! Update Fail! error. I've tried 3 different firmware images. they all do the same thing. is there a specific image for the Desire Z in Canada? I have a Bell Desire Z.

since i have root access can i rename the MIUI image to PC10IMG.zip and install that?

i found instructions that work perfectly for downgrading the canadian bell version of the Desire Z

[GUIDE] Downgrade G2 (2.3.X) & DZ (2.3.X) & mT4g (2.3.4) & DHD w/ S-ON to Stock Froyo - xda-developers

if anyone is interested, this method works

Hey, I'm trying to follow that guide but ran into this problem.
I can't seem to even get my device past the first part of gaining temp root.

Everything seems to going ok until I enter this field

$ /data/local/tmp/fre3vo -debug -start FAA90000 -end FFFFFFFF

I get an error that says "not found" and I still have the $

Any ideas?
