I haven't had any problems with it. It seems pretty accurate, runs fairly smooth and has a nice feature set. Let me know if you have any specific questions about it.

A paid GPS app with multiple/accurate updates from what I've heard and has live traffic as well? Its $34.95 though and a 2GB file....IMHO I will gladly be waiting on our update to see what navigation is like, whenever that may be.

I agree with cpupeli1. I'd rather wait for the OS update and play around with the Google Navigator and see what its like. I was tempted to download a hacked CoPilot 8 and see what it was like as well, but decided against it. Wasn't a big app, only 7mb, but the map I needed was 100mb and the actuall installed program is rather large 2-3gbs.

There are websites where you can download paid apps for free. Not endorsing it, but it doesn't always have to be this way.

I know one recently got shut down, but I'm sure some are still out there.

I know of these sites. Quite a few actually out there. I was amazed when I saw the YouTubes when I first went looking for good paid apps to actually buy. I was like.. Wow.. then I was like.. Hmmm.. *rubs chin* interesting.... lol

The only problems I have had with CoPilot are:

It takes forever to set up initially. The downloads are understandably huge (great maps, I'm just impatient at times) and no download "counter", so plan ahead. Don't try to install it when you need it.

The program is (again understandably) shockingly loud when sitting in your living room. I say understandably, because it's meant to be used while driving/walking/whatever outside. If you do get the App, be ready for that little shock

Actually, afte reading this, I need to specify - These are not problems. These are things new users need to be aware of. The program has to have large downloads, it's downloading entire maps of a region including POIs. I just wish tere was an indicator of how it was going.

And the default volume level is intended to be heard over road noise and such. It was just a bit of a suprise, sitting on the couch watching TV. Got me one of them looks from The Missus, too...

I use it, love it also. No more quirky than anything else android. App does use almost 15mb for phone installed app and data. CoPilot folder on sd card contains other program data and I have all of united states on it, which you do not have to do. Can download individual states if you wish, and it is another 1.6Gig.

I perfer the ui of copilot over google nav which I have played with on friends MotoDroid. Unless my friend was doing something wrong, he complains that with google when you are out of network area you lose map feed, which isn't obviously a problem when they're stored on your phone. All you need is GPS signal.

I've used it since December and love it. I tried quite a few GPS software and found it to be the best. Better than Google Nav mostly cause you have the maps on the phone and don't have to worry that if you lose your cell signal (rarely happens, thank you Verizon) you will lose your navigation. I wish it had an better search for streets. Get's a little quirky in downtown areas when in a car but that is the result of the GPS antenna in the phone. I wish we had 2.1 so I could tether my 21 channel GlobalSat Bluetooth GPS to it and get better accuracy when traveling in the car. That's the one thing I miss about my HTC Touch is the ability to Tether the Bluetooth GPS and use it as a serial GPS while using Garmin XT.

Also, if you are using Swype it can be a pain to input data in CoPilot Live. The stock keyboard works better.

Swype becomes your default keyboard for everything when you install it, even in CoPilot. At least I think it does. If it doesn't work that way...

Then I managed to make it the default by accident.

I use swype for my default keyboard and it appears for everything except copilot. And copilot doesn't use the stock eris keyboard it is actually using it's own keyboard?

I got it yesterday and so far I'm a happy camper.
The main reason for getting it was, like Eris Lover said, the maps are in the phone and not dependent on a network signal.
I didn't download the entire US but Western and Plains/Rockies states. Nice to have that option.
The voice volume level is not overly loud to my ears and is easy to hear in my pick up.
It took a minute or so to locate me on the GPS while I was driving on the freeway, but after it located me, the display was right on and accurate.
City streets and POI's were also accurate.
I don't think there will be any prob when 2.x comes along as a review of the website shows a company dedicated to keeping the product at the top of the heap.

I bought Co-Pilot live in Decmber and used it for awhile, but found it to be slow and one update caused too many force-closings. They had responsive customer support, but I ended up uninstalling it since it didn't work reliablly and was hoping for Google Nav to be up on the Eris by now. I might go back to trying CoPilot since I plunked the $25 for it...the most for any app on my phone. It's also a big memory user, even though the maps are saved to SD. I even tried reloading it a few days ago and it was still freezing on me. It kept telling me to download and install the maps even though I just spent an hour doing so.
