So I got the evo. My wife has a triumph with a jacked charging port. If we move her sd card to my triumph would I be able to flash the backup off her phone to give her the setup etc she has on my old phone? Would all if her backups etc be moved over? And I assume we would have to take mine back to stock to transfer her number correct?

So how did you guys get the evo already? I've called best buy and radio shack and they don't even have a release date. All they can tell me is it has been ordered. The reason I ask is I have like 2 days until I've had the triumph for 30 days meaning I won't be able to exchange it...I don't think either place will get it in 2 days and if I can't return this there's no way I'm paying another 300 for a phone that may turn out to have many many problems kinda like this one when it came out.

You don't have to worry about the Evo being a POS like the Triumph is. The Evo's been out for over a year now and it is light years ahead of the Triumph in every way, shape and form.

I understand that but it will be with a new company. I'm sure this phone was out in some shape or form but when it came to virgin....with that being said I haven't had ANY of the problems people talk about with this phone. That comment also doesn't explain how they have the phone already.

As long as you don't restore the system files

I received a new Triumph yesterday to replace my old one with a cracked screen (Best Buy Warranty) and on the stock ROM, the GPS locked on lightning quick! Much quicker than my old one on stock or on CM7, so maybe a lot of the issues from the early batches were resolved. Either way, I'm much too jaded by this phone to want to keep it, and as long as Best Buy gets the Evo in the next 30 days, I can go in and swap this new Triumph out for that one, so let's keep our fingers crossed! lol

Your VM account is in good standings as long as you don't wait more than 30 days. You could defect, then get the evo V within 30 days and still have your account.

From the VM Q&A Page: Your account will expire if:

A) Pay by the minute plan accounts will expire if you go more than 150 days without Topping-Up at least $20 or $15 if you select the Auto Top-Up option - OR - you go more than 105 days from your last Top-Up of less than $20 .

B) Monthly Plan accounts will expire if you go 120 days without fixing it or otherwise paying your monthly charge.

It's not about weather or not the phone is a POS. It's about the VM USA rom being a POS. Take the Triumph for example (the older ones in particular). They were a POS until you install a custom rom. Then all the issues are fixed and it's a very, very nice phone.

Radioshack.com

Someone already reported getting theirs from VM, although they had overnight shipping. Mine will be here tomorrow.
