Help Mini Bluetooth Keyboard on LG Esteem Metro PCS

Has anyone tried to pair a mini bluetooth keyboard to a LG Esteem android from Metro PCS? I have purchased and returned two different ones and tried another 2 at a local store with no luck. My phone works ok with my car stereo system and my computer bluetooth. I need an external mini keyboard because I can't use the integrated touchpad keyboard.

I have the Mini Rii keyboard .. Ill give it a try for you tomorrow

I know I'm digging this thread up from the graveyard by bumping it, but I was curious if anyone ever found any type of solution for getting an external USB or bluetooth keyboard to work on our phone...

Theoretically that should be the case, but I haven't read ANYONE confirming that they have been succesful with getting a bluetooth keyboard to work on this phone. I guess there aren't too many people on here who are interested in something like this based on the lack of replies though...

I have the above setup. My Esteem explicitly tells me that keyboards are not supported when I try to pair.

The keyboard is UPC 23755 89451.

Makes me sad, because I could use it as a computer, otherwise.

I would love to see a solution as well.

Can I get some love for the first useful post in this thread?

relax peeps very good question but i have suspicion that such things as bluetooth keyboards and bluetooth mouse are consider hid bluetooth devices which in conclusion the esteem will not connect to by default since the hid bluetooth drivers are not installed within any kernel that is available for the esteem. only such kernels that allows such connectivities are mostly the cyanmod kernels. other than that you should get an error that looks like this.

but very possible to get it to work with our phone just aslong we have some1 that knows how to code kernels and modify them since the phone will pick up and detect the actual mac address from the device just wont connect.

Ya I think that is one of the things that were gonna be included in pg' s cm9.. not sure if it's an ics+ thing.. if not maybe ldrifta could get it going on #2..

hi, I got N Two v 2.1 and could not get to work my BT keyboard either. I got the same error. I'm Now installing newest version of NumberTwo (v2.5.4) and the the BT fix/patch, if I get it working I will post and let you know.

edit: I tried and it does not work either.:-(

this is true if we didn't have a broken bluetooth driver.
there are many things you cannot pair because of this faulty driver...
such as the Wiimote.
might be lucky if a keyboard works on esteem
