Jellybean Update for Note 10.1 N8010

just because you had a good experience with your xoom, it doesn't mean that everyone else will, and yes it's called gedifying your tablet, i did the same with my tablet as it was a uk model and was never going to get updated.

the latest jellybean update 4.1.2 completely killed my xoom, i can't use it anymore, i can't unlock the screen and have to press the power button on the back 20 times before i can swipe to unlock and use it but then 10 seconds later it locks up again and i have to do a hard reboot each time but it doesn't get any better, can't scroll down to view a webpage, can't type even one word because it gets completely unresponsive and there is nothing i can do to fix it, so i am selling it for parts and getting a note but won't touch jellybean again after that, i lost £300 because of jellybean's update, you have to understand why i am so angry about loosing that kind of money.

Can you not reflash another ROM?

My GNex and my old Viewsonic GTab have been so screwed up with my tinkering that I thought I would never get them back but somehow, with the help of these forums, I've been able to bring them back every time.

Seems to me that Samsung has a monthly roll-out program for updates. Germany got the GT-N8000 jb update first on Nov 7th, now we see they update the wi-fi only version about a month later.

Hopefully the UK wi-fi version will update around a month after the 3g version, which was about 2 weeks after Germany got it..

I'm happy to wait until the official version hits the streets.

I suppose Samsung has to satisfy the Mobile Networks who want their customers looked after first, but it is frustrating for those of us who opt for the wi-fi model.

Are they spreading the load on their Update servers?

If this was a week ago I'd be leaping to update, but I've rooted, installed Switchme with 4 users and downloaded all previous downloads for each of them over the past few days and I'm not ready to go through all that again. Especially since it's not a straightforward official route.
Is there a massive difference between 4.0.4 and 4.1.1 on this tablet? I'm tempted to hold out until 4.2 -even if Samsung will likely take 6 months to bring it -if EVER!

4.2 at least will have multi-user capability built-in.

Well. If you after multi-user capability only than you may as well wait for official 4.2
I wanted the pen-enchantment option of Samsung's Premium Pack so I'll say its a great upgrade. I can't say anything about performance as just started to test it. Looks smooth and fast though.
I supposed one can just wait for official AIR update, but I'm not very patient when it comes to new stuff :D

Process of manual its easy and strait-forward so anybody can do this and it doesn't involve rooting so there is additional benefit of not loosing warranty.
Therefore I'll say if you want it - just get it. After all the official UK (or most western countries) would not be any different when it finally arrive. ;)

"5 layouts for multitasking"?
What does this mean? I have had JB on my N8000 for some weeks - flashed from first release. I now have around 30 different apps on my Multitaking Bar, having modified many of my favorites for multitasking. I would LOVE to store and recall different layouts. This is the first time I see some mention of layouts, other than the two old options of Dual View and Cascade View - which still show on my JB Bar.
Am I missing something? I really hope so!
