Waitng to purchase

You won't get Jelly Bean any sooner by waiting to purchase...

Unless you find the current OS so terrible that you couldn't handle using it, I would say to buy it. I don't envision the price dropping much in the coming months, so if you think the tablet is worth it, then grab it.

If you want to wait and see if another tablet is released that is a better value, then that is an option. However, if you are pretty set on the Tab 2 with JB, get it, use it, enjoy it. It is fine with the current configuration.

lot of people are unhappy with JB just rolled out for tab2. the ICS for Tab2 has a batter interface then JB and lot of people planning to downgrade the OS back to ICS.

there is no big difference in either of the releases apart from few new features and the UI changes done by samsung in the touch wiz.

if you are set to buy tab2 to go for it, you will get the taste of ICS and JB will arrive eventually.

Won't Jelly Bean be faster ?

Maybe on certain things, but for what I do, my tab spends far more time waiting for me than I spend waiting for it. :)

The interface in JB is supposed to be smoother, but I transition just fine between home pages etc now.

I have upgrade fever, simply because I believe the rumors that JB is coming, but I don't expect it to make me like my tablet a lot more. But, I am open to being surprised. :)

I checked daily too, but on the device itself (about device under settings). Until finally I checked with Kies, and I got the update.

Looks like OTA updates don't work, or are made available later.
I got my OTA update about 2 weeks ago. No problems that I've seen yet. I'm satisfied except for the taskbar being on top and the taskbar icons are smaller then I like.

To the OP, I would say buy now also. I've read some said they bought theirs around Christmas time and it came with JB.
