Help Weird sounds when using headphones / improper operation

Hi all,

Is there any way to get the remote control on the stock earphones that come with the HTC one to be able to skip track?

I tried a few but every time i try to double click it would redial the last number i called.

thanks

I don't use the stock headphones, but just another thing to look at is, does it not skip tracks all the time? The reason I ask is, I have run into several apps that, if they are running, appear to prevent me from skipping tracks.

hello,

are you using the stock app? i dont use the stock bud.. i dont even think the sprint version came with some, but i do use bt phones and the track selection works fantastic with them.

if you are looking to replace the stock music app, then there is a section/thread about 3rd party music apps.

Hi all,
been away in iphoneland for a couple of years, have recently changed back to android with the htc one. Had it for a couple of weeks now and it`s suddenly developed a problem with my bluetooth connection.
1. When I switch on my Plantronics Legend headset it connects right away, and does not disconnect at all......
until a call comes in, the headset asks incoming call, answer? or ignore?, I use the button to answer the call, the headset says answering call, then disconnects, then after a few seconds reconnects after I have pressed the answer button again.
2. When I double tap the call button to call back the last number dialled it says call back last number, then disconnects again, but the last number has not been redialed.
I`ve tested the headset on my old iphone and it works the way it`s supposed to with no issue`s.
Has anyone having any issue`s like this?, I have a couple of days to try and fix this problem before I have to decide whether to go back to iphone 5s or try another htc one, (which I then have to keep for 2 years. any advice would be great. thanks

not all headsets will work with all devices, so its not uncommon for a set to work with one device and not another.

what model headset are you using?

does it have the latest software update from its manufacrutrer?

what version of Android? 4.3? 4.2?

you are not rooted I ASSume?

you are an international user on an international carrier correct?

you say the issue "suddenly" started, so at one point the set was working fine with the phone?

if this is the case, did you install or uninstall any apps?

did you UN PAIR then RE PAIR the set?

do you have another set of phones you can test that are bluetooth?

use a different music player.

use Bluetooth headphones to rule out issue with the physical jack on the device.

if you only have wired phones, wiggle the connector whilst in use.

does the noise occur during a phone call? what about playing youtube videos or any video locally stored on your device?

point is does the "noise" occurs during video playback, phone calls, voice mail, etc..?

Hey everyone,

I'm having issues with my default music app settings. I started with the stock HTC music app and switched to google play music, but I can't get it to set as the default. I cleared all the defaults for the stock app, but I don't know how to set them for google (I can't get the prompt to show up asking me if I want it to set to default).
This is sort of a two part problem, as I was trying to use Jays headset control to use my own button config. That never worked, so if you have any tips on that front, please let me know. Anyway, when I press my headphone button to play, it starts HTC music app, even if the google one is the only one open.

Thanks for the help

Hello and welcome to the forums. I see your android device causing you trouble. Now to correct your problem you need to set the permission back out to the home screen and reset the google framework apk . This is located in the settings>application>manage apps>then go to all apps scrolling down to google framework. When you reset google framework apk . Just do a reboot .

The headphones that came with my HTC one have a single button on them. It plays/pauses the music, and I want to get it to switch songs, but a double click automatically calls the last number dialed (which is the dumbest setting ever). I got Jays headphone control app to change the button settings, but that didn't work. But first things first, I just want google play music as my default. I would just remove or disable the stock music app, but naturally I can't without rooting.

Hey guys (and gals),

Got my HTC One a week ago. Tried my headphones in other devices and they work fine, but today was the first time I tried them in my actual phone and simply put, they're not working (sound continues to come out of speakers and no headphone icon in status bar).

I gave the jack a squirt of compressed air in case there might be some lint/debris in there, but still no dice.

I'm well within the return period so I can do an exchange, but I'd rather not have to reconfigure/redownload everything I've done in the past week.

Anyone have any ideas, or is it what I'm fearing: a defective headphone jack?

Thanks!

soft reset the phone,

try a different pair of headphones

is the headphone icon present in the top notification area when you plug the phones in?

if you remove the headphones, does the headphone icon stay on the screen or does it go away? does it even show up at all when you plug headphones in?

worse case the port is damaged and if you are within your return period, exchange it.

other options---factory reset

Hi,

I'm based in the North West of England and bought a htc one a couple of weeks back having been using the htc desire for almost 3 years.

Really please with the htc one but it is taking me some time getting used to all the functions it is capable of, which I don't mind as the phone is fab.

The only issue I have is when listening to music through headphones it sounds rather flat and tinny. Is this a general problem or do I need better headphones.

I'm using Sennheiser CX475 Premium In Ear Headphones as they had good reviews. The headphone jack doesn't fit flush with the jack hole on the phone so maybe that is causing the problem. Any way I have ordered a set of genuine HTC headphones from the online store. And hope this will rectify the sound issues.

Any one else had similar problems if so did you manage to fix the problem.

thanks in advance
