Phone orders? Have you received confirmations yet?

I ordered via phone on 4/21 - talked to a CSR about new service. He kept saying that my Incredible would be delivered on Friday 4/30. Naturally, I assumed he was incorrect as the web indicates phones will be delivered on 4/29.

Since then I have not received any confirmation whatsoever - no email, no charge to my credit card, nothing - it's as if I didn't actually even place the order. I tried to call after the fact but the next two CSR's I spoke with indicated that I needed to speak to the original CSR that opened my account (left a message for him). Why? Why can't anyone help me?

Anyway, anyone else out there make a phone order and facing a similar situation?

I ordered mine today, and this was the gist I got from my phone rep:

The phone is released for sales channels outside of online on the 29th, just like how games will come out on one day, but usually are in store the day after. Because the phone orders are done this way, it'll ship early on the 29th, for a 30th delivery. My rep told me that the phone orders can't even be processed until Thursday, so she took down my card # and such, and will run it Thursday, and will give me a followup call, to let me know she has made the order.

Hope this helps -- if you need any clarification, let me know.

Order Date: 04/21/2010
Order Number: 520036***
Order Status: We have received your order. Please check back tomorrow.

I talked to a rep but they really couldn't give me any useful information. All I know is i'm going to be pissed if I don't get my phone on the 29th.

online orders stated that you would receive it on the 29th. Where did this 30th business come in?

My online order (placed on 4/21/10) status: Your order has been processed. You should receive your order within 2 - 3 business days.

This status was as of Sunday evening. I have yet to receive a shipment confirmation or tracking number. I'm assuming Wednesday/Thursday for arrival at my door. But definitely no later. I didn't preorder to watch shmucks walk out of the store and laugh at me for handing over money sight-unseen...

I placed an order over the phone on 4/19 and called this morning to check on the status.

First I spoke with the general Customer Service department. The lady I spoke with was under the assumption that the phones would ship out on 4/29, as she said orders placed over the phone went through a different system than those done online. However, she wasn't even aware that Verizon was promising preorders would be shipped out on the 28th for delivery on the 29th until I pointed this out to her (she had to check the website). She did say that I would need to speak with my original sales rep if I wanted to get further information or cancel the phone order.

I got in touch with my sales rep later in the morning. He said that my order had already been canceled because they had later found out that they weren't allowed to take orders over the phone. He did say they would be reentering the order as soon as it became available, and he stressed to me that the phone would be shipped out on the 28th for delivery on Thursday. He than promised to call me back tomorrow morning if that wasn't the case so that I would have time to place the order online before the 4:00 p.m. cutoff time.

At this point, I'm not sure what to believe. I think there's a 50/50 chance I'll actually get the phone on Thursday, but I've got to say this whole experience with ordering from Verizon has been pretty uninspiring. No one seems to have any idea when the phones will actually be shipping, and the whole problem with having to go back to your original sales rep to make any changes to the order just seems half-baked.

I guess we'll see what comes tomorrow. I may still give him a call back in the morning anyway just to see what the current situation is. I'd hate to have gone to all the trouble of pre-ordering the first day it became available only to not get the phone on its release day.

I just got a notification of a change to my account today. I checked my account documents and it shows that my phone is shipping out today via 2nd day fedex. I don't have a tracking # yet but that will probably come through this afternoon after fedex picks it up. I checked my order status and it says my phone has been shipped and it should arrive in 2-3 business days. So i'm happy, i'll have it by thursday at the latest and if i'm lucky it may show up tomorrow, but i have my doubts. Either way its on its way.

mine was shipped yesterday from onatario, canada. right now its sitting in oakland, 35 minutes away from me and the shipping info says it wont be delivered till tomorrow .

Call the fedex hub (where its located) and give them your tracking #, ask if you can pick the package up at the hub. They will require a signature and a photo id but its not been a problem for me in the past. Good luck ;)
