Let's see your "Incredible" layout (Pun intended)

My screens from far left to right. Although after seeing Helix, I think I'm going to work on creating a setup with that.

Apps on the phone

I forgot to show it expanded, but the 'Games', 'My Apps', and 'My Contacts' use FolderOrganizer lite and Apps Organizer to give a nice dynamic shortcuts folder. (I didn't like the default android folders.)

Live Wallpaper is EarthRot. It's sweet.

Good looking app set up. How do you get Pandora to show as a large icon? I'd like not having to search for it since I use it so much.

I'll give it a whirl when I get home, btw pens app was the first thing I downloaded when I got my phone! Well that and a steelers app but the steelers app sucked so uninstalled it...

haha nice, again, I honestly think the Penguins Mobile app is one of the most well developed apps I've seen. Granted they have the funding to do so, I'm just very impressed. The minimalistic widget is fantastic, and the app itself has more than I expected.

Yeah, it's integrated in Beautiful widgets. When you add the widget "Beautiful home", there's an option to dl/apply a skin. The cool thing with the Wrigley one (if you're using helix) is when you turn to landscape, the skin completely changes:

Compare that to the previously posted pic

What is the widget you have running that has the letters A M N R S V at the bottom with red-to-green bars and mute icons?

I tried to install this on my laptop and connect phone so I could post screen shots but get lost in the program. Can somebody post a step by step procedure for dummies like myself lol? I went to the link and downloaded the package for windows, unzipped it, but then I get lost.

Glenn

Glenn, this is the easiest way I found to do this:

First and foremost on your phone touch the menu button and go to settings. Select Applications in this list, then select development. Ensure USB Debugging is turned on.

Then:

-Connect your Incredible as a disk drive
-Run HTCSync2.0.25.exe (HTC Sync)
-Unzip the downloaded android-sdk-windows
-Run SDK Setup.exe from the unzipped folder
-Following the setup of HTC Sync Click Start > Run
-Type CMD
-In the Command prompt box it will most likely say C:\Documents and Settings\{your username}\
**Note: Documents and Settings is in XP, if you have
Vista or Windows 7 it will say users**
-If you unzipped it to your desktop type the following:
-cd Desktop (then press enter)
-cd Name of the unzipped folder (then press enter)
-cd Tools
-ddms.bat

This should bring up the view of your device in the Dalvik Debug Monitor

-Click on the device in the list on the top left
-Click Device and then Capture Screenshot

This should then show a preview of what you currently have on your screen.

Hmm...pregnancy calculator and a line item in the calendar that says RS Home Visit....are you what I think you are?

Exactly. One thing I do differently, which I think is easier than typing in what's underlined above, is actually navigate to the tools folder of the SDK and open that. In the "address bar" of the tools folder, when you click on it, it'll change to the path you would need to type. Copy and paste into the cmd window after you type in cd -space-

So for mine, it looks like this:

C:\Users\yourname>cd C:\Users\yourname\Desktop\android-sdk_r05-windows\android-sdk-windows\tools

push enter and you'll see:

C:\Users\yourname\Desktop\android-sdk_r05-windows\android-sdk-windows\tools>

type "ddms.bat" and push enter. Give it a second and you'll see the dalvik debug monitor

Copy and paste is definitely easier (please note in the command prompt you cannot use the shortcut keys of CTRL + V to paste, you must right click and select paste)

One note is if you are using XP and it says "Documents and Settings you may have to put quotes around the line so it would read:

cd "C:\Documents and Settings\<yourusername>\Desktop\android-sdk_r05-windows\tools"

anyways, if anyone really needs more instruction just let me know and I can help out.

I too liked the look of HELIX but i found a problem with it see the pic above his WIFI is turned on but if you look at the top of the screen he's still using the 3G to pull stuff from the net. I first thought it was just me so i uninstalled Helix and sure enough that was the problem....

Lets say you have your 3G on and as soon as you hit the wifi toggle. The wifi icon takes the place of the 3G icon on the status bar at the top of the phone, at least this is how it should work but if you install Helix it doesnt do that any more

another thing i found is that if you have helix installed and you have 3G and wifi off the Wifi toggle wont turn the wifi all the way on you have to go to the wifi setting and as soon as you get there the wifi icon pops up on top and then you can use the wifi.

its too bad cause i like Helix but if its gonna give me problems like this ill have to unistall it

p.s ive been getting these errors with HELIXlauncher not HELIXlauncher 2.

What are you using lgldrgdlr?

Awfully observant there. I just checked and I have wifi on and the icon is there. I turned it off for a minute, turned it back on, and it came up after about 10 seconds. Not sure what happened in that other pic.

Oh, and it's just helixlauncher, not II.

Well since everyone is showing off their UI, I'd figure its a good time to ask, anyone have any issues with your picture say your favorites looks really bad, the quality of the picture is nothing like the actual picture, looks like all they pixels are crunched up and the image looks really distorted and cheap. I have a feeling this issue is due to the way Google syncs your contacts.

I tried deleting my picture from my gmail account, then upload a nice good quality picture (from my phone), when i add this contact to my favorite widget, the image looks clean and smooth...once i do a sync the image looks bad.

Any ideas, or anyone else having this problem??
