I definitely am a tad jealous of Its massive screen.. the video calling and 4g......

I also wish the incredible could record in 720p like the evo....

Do u think its possible the incredible will get 720p in an update later?

I realize u can never have the best because better phones will always come out but do u think the incredible will receive 2.2 and all future versions of Android....?

Anyone with the incredible thinking of switching?

I've got the best phone available right now. It does everything i've ever dreamed of and more. I have no need or ambition to upgrade for another 20 months until my new every 2 discount is available. By then maybe verizon will have rolled out their 4g service, regardless i'm not interested in switching providers. Verizon has by far the best coverage in this area, theres not even a close second place provider.

I considered switching to Sprint for about 1/2 a second to get the EVO. Then remembered why I chose Verizon in the first place; their network. For me at home and where I travel it's much better. What good is a great PHONE if you can't make calls on it or connect to a network to actually use it's features. Plus I love the OLED screen, it's gorgeous. Another plus is the more pocketable size of the Incredible.

I think you just set all of mankind back 100 years with the extremely distasteful comment.

the DINC will probably get 2.2.
i am a little jelous of the EVO because of the front facing camera and wifi specs. but im very happy with me DINC and wouldnt switch to sprint (even though i would get 4G everywhere i use my phone)
its just not important to me right now and by the time my contract is up VZW will be that much closer to having LTE rolled out, maybe we will have a phone with LTE capability by then???

I'm actually thinking that I'll use my annual upgrade in about 11 months to replace my Incredible with Verizon's 4G, video calling, HTC touchscreen smartphone. The Skype-Verizon deal is all about eventual video calling when 4G is up and running so it's gonna happen. I get 3G in the far reaches of EVERYwhere I travel with Verizon. Always 3G. With Sprint I'd see a lot of 1xRTT data due to pure coverage shortfalls which makes the EVO worse than the Incredible IMO. I'd rather wait for Verizon to turn on LTE at the end of the year so the next phone I get with them is 4G/3G instead of Sprint's 4G/3G/2G solution.

The only appeal that the Evo 4G has over the incredible is the larger screen.

Yes, the screen is larger but its a TFT screen. The AMOLED screen on the Incredible out performs the EVO's. Not to mention the resolution is the same on both so in reality the Incredible is better.

The only things the EVO has over the Incredible is the front facing camera and the 4G radio. Both which aren't a big deal, at least to me.

I don't understand the obsession with recording video in 720p. Way overkill for a cell phone. On a small display, your not going to notice the addition detail. If you were to play a 720p recording on a large screen, you're going to see barrel distortion and other defects due to the limitations of the tiny lens, not to mention the poor sound quality. You want to shoot HD video, get a camcorder. They've gotten pretty cheap.

Also, I haven't been keeping up with 4G, but is there really much of a real-world difference from 3G?

EVO looks nice, but as the previous poster said there's always going to be something better. I'm going to wait a couple years for the phone with the 3D holographic display, 10 teraflops processor and 2 year battery life from the hydrogen fuel cell.

The bigger screen would be nice if only for a bit bigger portrait keyboard. I have thick pads on my fingers and even with the compact qwerty have quite a few missed keystrokes on the Inc. I could definitely type better and more accurate on the thick buttons of the compact qwerty keyboard on my Blackberry pearl flip. Anyway, I would think the keys would be a bit bigger with the larger screen. The front facing camera would be nice. And 720 sure who wouldn't want it. But really, the Inc wil do fine for the next year for me (I did a 12 month contract).

If anything, you should be happy about it. Sprint is going to market the crap out of the EVO and bring more people and apps to Android.

Which still makes me wonder why I have seen zero Incredible commercials yet? Just makes no sense.....and is the reason why the Iphone is so successful, Insane marketing campaigns that brain wash everybody into buying it.

Come on Verizon advertise the Incredible....

Evo is nice, but ultimately it is on Sprint, and the fancy extras like the 720P video, etc., just can't be that great on a cell phone? Who knows maybe it will be great, but the DINC is pretty awesome, and I have a strong network behind the phone....
