While this is probably not going to get the results I'm hoping for, I wonder if anyone else is PO'd because the only thing in the box was the phone, charger, and the book.
Did you not see any of the unboxings prior to the release of the phone? Had you, you would have known what was in the box prior to buying. While this is probably not going to get the results I'm hoping for, I wonder if anyone else is PO'd because the only thing in the box was the phone, charger, and the book.

If anything, you should be pissed we didnt get headphones, but a case and/or a screen protectors just expecting too much imo.
Its not HTC, or Sprints responsibilty to give you stuff to protect your phone.
Had they inclulded a case, Im sure there would be complaints about how cheap, ugly, and/or bland it was and how they could have done better... you get the idea.

Its not HTC, or Sprints responsibilty to give you stuff to protect your phone. Stuff that most people wouldnt even like or use to begin with. The same that could be said for the headphones, but the only reason I mentioned that was I saw an unboxing of the GSM Hero that had a set in the box.

On top of that, the screen has a oleophobic coating that works really well. Why would you want to cover that up? To each his own I guess.
A screen protector would be nice not sure why they didn't do that, but in all honestly all of the smartphones I've had the carrying case they came with was impractical and are designed to have to take the phone out of the case to use anyway, so I just ended up buying phone cases that don't impede the use of the phone while keeping it protected, just my 2 cents .
...i like the phone bare alot more.
I don't for a moment understand this thread at all. You want all this and to pay next to nothing for the phone to boot. Average is $99 for the savy shopper, the Touch Pro cost how much out of the gate? Come on... I prefer to spend the additional money they would have charged to include throw away items on accessories of MY choice, not the junk they'll give ya.

I posted about the lack of a case here earlier before I even bought the Hero. I bought the hero today at Best Buy. Since I already had Sprint I could not get the phone for $99, it was the $179.99 which I was prepared to pay. The Best Buy rep says "you have two choices you can buy the phone for $179.99, or you can buy it at the $99 sale price and buy $80 worth of accessories." It was a no brainer, I bought a glove style rubber case for it, a 8GB SD card, and a card reader and paid the same price. This was my Christmas present to myself and I got a lot more presents than I bargained for.
