Advice please 3g coming on by itself

hi there Just the last few days my 3g has been coming on by itself. My mobile internet is not enabled.It does go off again eventually,Its not too bad as i have a big allowance which i know it wont go over but im wondering why its started to do this & what i can do about it?

I did think it was maybe a picture message trying to come through but nothing has came. Any ideas?

The first thing that comes to my mind is to check your 'Wireless controls'. Be sure to UNcheck 'Mobile Network' and make sure your WiFi sleep policy is set to Never.
You can also try deleting your APNs under 'Mobile network settings'

yeah my mobile network is not checked Not sure what you mean about the wifi sleep policy?
& do i not need to have apns?

There are many apps that use the internet to sync and update, so I think it's normal to have a traffic going.

About the sleep policy - normally if you are on WiFi and your screen goes idle, it will power up the mobile network.

yeah i was thinking it could be twitter It just strange that it has only just started so maybe its something i downloaded lately

It's not normal if he has Mobile network disabled, which he claims he has.

yeah it is disabled thats why i was wondering why it was doing it & if it had been a message then it surely would have came by now It came on again today for about 2 mins while i was out for a walk i didnt have anything on at the time
& He is a she lol
