Help Bluetooth Reception

Hello Members,
I am a new smart phone user, and I have had problems learning to use my HTC Incredible from Verizon. I have tried 2 different Bluetooth devices and with both, I still get terrible reception. Please suggest an appropriate bluetooth device for me to use with my phone. Thank you
