Can i get dust cleaned out by Sprint w/o keeping battery in?Support

    Well, the dust under my screen came back (by alot), and i am wondering, since i am rooted can i just give it to sprint without the battery in or do i have to go back to stock?

    Your safest bet is to go stock. You never know if they'll want to turn on the phone to make sure it's there/gone.

    Dust under the screen would have nothing to do with if you are rooted or not, but IMO, better safe then sorry.

    Make a nandroid and apply the nandroid when you get it back.

    Am i gonna need new screen protectors? Cause i assume they rip it off.

    They should NOT have the need to remove the screen protector IMO.

    Has anyone had any problems getting the dust cleaned out? I took mine to the repair center and they told me that they couldn't do it b/c it was between two plates of glass.

    i've had my dust cleaned twice. and a blown speaker replaced. all with the phone rooted and they never batted an eye.

    With my first hero I called customer service when I got dust under the screen and they gave me a replacement.

    Took my phone to Sprint on Saturday regarding dust under the screen. They said they'd try to clean it out. My wife picked it up, and they told her they 'replaced' the LCD screen. Bonus! BUT, low and behold, when I checked it out, the SAME dust is sitting in the same corner of the screen.

    So either they lied about cleaning it and/or didn't replace anything. I called customer support and they stated that 'dust under the screen' isn't a common issue for the phone (BS!) and only damage, lost, water damage, malfunctions are replaceable scenarios. I can take it back to the sprint store and try cleaning again.....

    Just my experience, time to throw my phone in the sink. KIDDING.

    Just had my dust cleaned again today when I took it in for ANOTHER blown speaker.
    The first words the guy said when he unlocked it were "Is this 2.2?".
    He was excited b/c he had just gotten an Epic and gave his sister his Hero. He'd been telling her he wouldn't put 2.2 on it for her because it was too glitchy.
    Another one converted :)
