Apps Creating a restaurant app that uses GPS

Hi.

Wondering how one can create an Android app that uses GPS to show the smartphone's position in Google Maps 3D street view.

The app should be able to update the location in real time - i.e if you move around and walk with your phone on the street the position should change on the screen as to where you move.

The idea is to show only restaurants and also be able to click on an icon above each restaurant in the map to see info and make reviews.

If such an app already exist, please notify me so that we can check it out. This is for a school project and we have never made an app before.

Please help out on how and where we can get started and also if you can list what we will have to learn to be able to make this app?

If you're new to Android app programming, then I would recommend you read the sticky posts at the top of this forum, which contain a lot of useful advice and links to resources for beginners.

Once you've downloaded the development tools, I would encourage you to look at the sample applications, and start first with some simple apps to learn the basics.

As your project involves Google maps, then you can switch your focus on this. Fortunately there are a lot of resources to help you, such as:

I'm not sure if there's a web service which will get you information about restaurants, there could well be. Otherwise I don't know how you can obtain this information.
