Help Google Search Help - Searches being blocked out like passwords?

Okay, this is weird. As of yesterday, when I go to Google mobile to search for something, the characters I am typing get blocked out with the star character just like when you are typing in a password. You can see the letter you just typed, but a soon as you move on to the next letter, the previous letters are being "hidden".

I didn't make any changes to the settings, but now I cannot see what I am typing. I can barely type on this thing to begin with, but now, I can't see what I just typed.

Any suggestions why my google searches are being treated like passwords? It's not my Incredible as this is only happening in Google, which is my home page. I've cleared my history and the Browser cache...no luck...

I'm getting the same thing. Very weird. I also get it if I go to Google's main search page through the browser, but once I search for something and am at the results page, I can type in my search just fine.

Just checked...same here, once I'm at the results page my letters no longer get starred out. Also, it doesn't happen when I go to the non-mobile version of Google. Still, it's driving me nuts!

Happening here too, must be a glitch on the mobile site.

Same here and same on my gf's phone too. We both have HTC Desire HD's but two different ROM's.

Turning "instant" on seems to have fixed it for me, at least for the moment.

Yeah, doesn't do it when on the desktop site, just mobile it seems.

Ah, okay. Glad this isn't happening just to me. I just got the incredible tonight and spent forever trying to find a setting to fix this! It only happens when I'm at the Google homepage, if I searched for something and then enter something it works fine. Hope this gets fixed soon, its pretty annoying.
