Root How to get MMS working in Villain

Try these:

Access Point Name: orangemms
Username: Orange
Password: Multimedia
Authentication: Normal
Data bearer: GPRS
Gateway IP (proxy) address: 192.168.224.010
Port: 9201 (some users have reported 8080 works if 9201 doesn't)
Session mode: Permanent
MMS Message (Relay) Server URL http://mms.orange.co.uk/

Or:

On the device, press the Menu key.
Select Settings > Wireless controls > Mobile network settings > Access Point Names.
Press the Menu key and select New APN.
Select Name, enter Orange MMS and press OK.
Select APN, enter orangemms and press OK.
Enter the user name and password listed below. If no value is listed, leave the field blank.
User name: Orange
Password: Multimedia
Select MMSC, enter http://mms.orange.co.uk/ and press OK.
Select MMS Proxy, enter 192.168.224.10 and press OK.
Select MMS Port, enter 8080 and press OK.
Select APN type, select mms and press OK.
Press the Menu key and select Save

That's the same thing I used for the info I posted in the 5.4 upgrade thread... and apparently it still doesn't work for anybody, unless taking out the 0 in the 010 works. I don't think it makes a difference but it's worth a shot.:thinking:

Unless there's something messed up with the APN itself.. Jaffa, you at least get 3G connectivity right?

One of them is from the Orange website itself, so if it doesn't work I really don't know what else to suggest. I'm still waiting to see if my MMS has been restored - I just need to hear back from the missus when she gets onto her break at work.

I posted that from Orange on another thread earlier, we've tried that and still no joy, unfortunately
