htc inspire 4g problems

So im new to Android. Switched from an iPhone 4 . As of now i regret it. I tried to root my phone but was no succesfull. I thnk. But now, I cant here nothing. Media alarm finger. nothing. What can i do. I tried reseting, no luck. Will the next android update unrest or fix my phone? Pleas help me

You might need to do a factory data reset to restore the phone.
