I'm not tempted one bit. But in your situation it makes sense since your wife can take your old phone. Win-win situation :)

Me too. Love my droid. Kinda want the Incredible though for two reasons: It doesn't have this physical that I've NEVER touched since day one, and it'll be lighter because of lack of said keyboard. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with the Droid.

But I'm gonna keep my Droid since I just signed a new contract when I got it and I'm not about to pay full retail for the Incredible. But if you can just hand off your Droid to your wife, then I think you should go for the Incredible. (Don't forget: if you hate it, you have 30 days to take it back and get another Droid.)

if I could I would snag the incredible. imo if you don't care for a physical keyboard then the incredible is an overall better phone. of course I would definitely want to try it in store to see how it feels before making any serious decisions though.

I LOVE my Droid. But I've been debating between the Incredible and Nexus One for a longggg time. I've officially decided incredible after the specs were released. I also just love the design. Only downside is I'll probably have to pay full retail for it.. or around that but I'll get it cheaper somehow I'm sure.

Put it this way, I'm moving from my Droid to the incredible once it's release. I am just tired of a keyboard. Thought I'd need it but I don't. So I want an all touch phone.

    I want a snapdragon phone, who doesn't? ;)

And I want something new to hack and play with lol.. Plus I love to buy new phones when sweet ones come out. So this one seems like a good one for the next year or so (probably will use it till contracts up, especially since I have to pay full retail for it lol). :)

I love my droid, but once the contract is done, I'm setting my eyes on the Evo 4G; two camera; 8mpixel; hdmi out; 4.3" screen; woow HTC EVO? 4G

See the EVO 4G is awesome and all, but I don't need an HDMI output, or a front facing camera. And I've never used a 4.3 inch screen so I can't comment if i'd like one that big or not. But it will be nice.. Just sprints network it ehhh. Verizon's is :D

I wonder if you can return the droid and get your NE2 back in the 30 days, then you can just wait the extra 5-6 days and grab the incredible.

i think that's the direction of all the phones are going, the next standard will be 4.3" full hd, plug-n-play straight to your hd tv. Never know a year from now this phone will be on Verizon too. Sprint is the most aggressive with their pricing, it's quite enticing.

Incredible looks very nice...I'm one of those that never uses the keyboard on the Droid, so a slimmer, lighter phone w/similar features would be an improvement for me. I am concerned about the AMOLED screen - have to see it in full sunlight to see how it looks.

I'm unlikely to upgrade any time soon - I am happy to wait a while and see what other options appear, including <gasp> the iPhone on verizon w/a multitasking OS...

But...I can't imagine giving up root and all the flexibility/control I have with it.

Yeah, I'm tempted to ditch the Droid but not for the incredible. I really like the EVO slightly better specs than the incredible plus it will probably be cheaper on Sprint plans. I don't mind using an all touch display especially if the screen is huge and HTC's kb is installed. However, if the EVO does not meet my expectations, I'm sticking with the Droid. I love this phone.

After the news about the AMOLED screen on the Nexus One not having 3 sub-pixels per pixel, which is likely to be the same screen on the Incredible, and now the user manual for the Incredible not listing the 8GB of internal memory I'm not sure that it really has that much on the Droid.

HTC phones also do not have gorilla glass.

AFAIK, Cortex A8 has faster IPC. If your Droid is rooted and overclocked mildly, then it's already faster than the Incredible. If it's 1GHz or above, then it's significantly faster. I'm not really sure why people are making that big of a deal over Snapdragon.

That leaves the only reason to buy the phone the extra RAM. 256MB in the Droid vs 576MB in the Incredible.

If you'd rather have 320MB more RAM instead of a physical keyboard, gorilla glass, and crisp text then go for it.

No doubt the HTC has better specs, but could it hold up the durablilty when compared against our Droid? Probably not.

I will race my Droid at 1.25Ghz vs the Incredible and see which is faster once I get it. That should be interesting... I read the incredible is quite a bit faster than the Droid by some who has played with it already... Source: Comment #16 Mike

i have personally held one of these in my hands about a week ago. I put it side by side with my droid overclocked to 1.2GHz with memory tweaks. I must say the incredible was still a good bit faster. Playing video is where it blew the droid away. it seeked near instantly, and loaded everything very fast and smooth. Screen was large and bright, and after about an hour of goofin off on it the battery life seemed half descent – alot better than i had expected. The one i held was black with red accents, and it looks VERY nice… the back of it has some nice lines to it instead of simply being smooth, which i liked the look of very much! Camera lense is comparable to the palm pre plus (play with one at your local verizon store as it is nice) and produced large high quality pictures, resembling a point n shoot handheld instead of a cell phone. Overall I was impressed, and i talked alot of trash on it till i got to actually play with one for an extended amount of time. Launch date is aimed to be end of april, near the 28th if not mid may. I *believe* it actually had 8gb of internal memory, and the one i was showed had a 16gb card in it. cant see why it wont support a 32. Backup assistant is a bit of a stretch, but would be nice for people coming from basic phones.

That's the kind of quote that makes me want to say the leaked User Guide is a fake. It's not the only one noting the 8GB of memory.

Anyway, back to the part you noted. The seeking is quite possibly due to the significant amount of extra RAM allowing the app to load more of the video into RAM. There's no doubt that more RAM is an advantage in a mobile device where you can't upgrade it.

I should also have clarified that I'm referring to the specific Snapdragon used in the Incredible (~768MHz model) when referring to CPU performance. There are dual-processor Snapdragons that are significantly faster than either.

It doesn't have a physical keyboard Pass. The only way i'll give up my droid is for the droid 2 if it sticks with the keyboard and the screen size goes to 4.0 or 4.3. Ofcourse a snapdragon would be nice but the incredible just doesn't seem like an upgrade unless your one of those folks who likes the droid but hates the physical keyboard. If so buy it right now.

I disagree, The speaker isnt as good and its stuck with the same screen as the nexus. I would not be suprised if it sufferes from the same 3g and touch screen problems that it has to.

The screen and speaker are much better on the droid and the driod is used my MANY more people and is supported by lots of online goodies. I never use the keyboard either, but the lack of a readable screen in the daylight and good speakers are a big loss.

Plus, even though the phone will have snapdragon, the nexus has proven to be almost the same exact speed as the droid...

    Though, its up to you.

Question: What will you do if the Incredible suffers from the same crap build quality of the Nexus One? 31 days after you buy it, you realize it.

Best to just wait a month or two afterward.

If you like Moto products, rumor has it the "Nexus Two" or simply, the next Google phone, will be a Motorola phone codenamed "Shadow." Not a whole lot out on it yet, but definitely worth waiting for. If it one ups the Incredible six months afterwards the way the Incredible KINDA one-ups the Droid six months after, then you'll feel kinda crappy.

meh.... you can play that game with all phones. A new one is always around the corner. The only reason I'd ditch the Motorola for the Incredible is the keyboard. It just stinks. I've tried HTC's on screen keyboard on the Eris and it's way better than either keyboard on the moto in my opinion.

I don't even really use the keyboards at all anymore with the voice to text.. which works amazingly well.
