Are there many people who are interested in Beta testing apps? What would make you want to Beta test something?

New apps are sometimes interesting and the dev might be interested in app ideas that a user, but non dev might have to give.

Like me. I have quite a few ideas, but I am no dev, so I have no way at all to implement them.

Agreed but on all too many occasions people don't want to waste there time testing something they want it to be perfect straight out the gate.

depends on if it's an app I want or not. I love being in Betas though (always try to get into the Betas for the games I play, my computer still has windows 7 RC installed on it, have both GVoice and GWave and was in GMail beta back in the day) for things I'm hoping to use once they're released. For example, would love to get into the Mobile Defense beta :)

But what happens if its a blind beta? You don't know the app you will be testing until you are selected. I work in a company which does a number of apps across sport / finance / editorial so it could be any one of a few things!

do you give the option of testing a category of apps? (for example, I couldn't care less about sports apps so I won't use them enough to adequately test them)

At the moment no but that is a good idea! Vertical interest could be a good inclusion on a form submission. Thanks for that.
