Keep screen on and dim it

Does anyone know of an app that will dim the screen but keep it on? I would like this to happen no matter what app is open. So I launch the app, use a widget, etc, turn it on. Then after my timeout time has passed, instead of turning the screen off, it will dim and keep it on.
